LAMBTOWN FESTIVAL
Dixon, California
October 1–4
Registration opened today!
Join us at the West Coast’s premiere sheep and wool event. A laid back vibe, family-friendly atmosphere, tons of great workshops, and fresh churros are just a few of the hallmarks of our favorite show of the year.
Lambtown Festival is not just our local show; it’s near and dear to our hearts. It is definitely a family affair, with Roy, Henry, and Gynna teaching, Angela running the wool show and sale, Peggy helping out with decorations and snacks, and Gynna and Hank organizing Wooly Adventures. Last year, Hank even added “Official Kid Photographer” to the list.
We’ll be teaching the following classes:
Exploring the Drum Carder
Thursday, October 1 | 9 AM – 4 PM
Adventures in Drum Carding
Friday, October 2 | 9 AM – 4 PM
Blending Board Basics
Sunday, October 4 | 9 AM – 12 PM
We hope you’ll join us for a workshop, for the weekend, or for whatever you can!

Registration is officially open for DFW Fiber Fest 2026
Friday, August 28 – Sunday, August 30, 2026
We’re excited to be back and teaching this year.
Here’s what we have planned:
Breed Sampler V: Fine Wools
Thursday | 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
The characteristics of fine wool breeds—often the reason we love them so much—can also lead to challenges at the carder. In this class, we’ll cover how to avoid common issues when carding fine wools, which breeds tend to be the most troublesome, and how to substitute fibers while still achieving the results you want.
Intro to Drum Carding
Friday | 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
This hands-on beginner class is perfect for building confidence at the carder. Students will create two batts using a variety of foundational techniques and tools, working on both hand crank and motorized carders to make woolen and worsted preparations. If you’ve been hesitant to use your carder at home, this class will give you the skills and confidence to get started.
Carding for Color: The Color Wheel
Friday | 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Learn how your eyes interpret color and use that knowledge to blend primaries with intention. By sharing and combining blends, students will create a collaborative fiber color wheel to take home. This class brings color theory to drum carding in a practical, hands-on way.
Blending Board Basics
Sunday | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Learn the fundamentals of blending board use from one of its designers. In 2011, Henry and Roy Clemes developed the blending board, now a widely used fiber prep tool. This class explores both its versatility—blending fibers of different types, lengths, and colors—and its efficiency in preparing rolags for woolen spinning.
We’re looking forward to this festival and hope to see you there. Be sure to register early—classes tend to fill quickly.
