Easter is my favourite time of year for weird food traditions between Puss Sunday, Salting Monday and herring funerals. So I’m very excited to be teaming up with @assassination_custard for a bit of a deep dive into this time of year at Clearys pub on 1st April.
Myself and Shaun Lavelle will be chatting about lost customs, surprising dishes, and the ways Easter shaped how people cooked, fasted and feasted across Ireland.
Assassination Custard with will be providing some sneaiceanna inspired by the chat. Think herring, mussels, almond milk, black tea, oatcakes. But maybe not puffin.
Rascals will be providing a wee deoch.
