Alongside ClearWater Conservancy’s refreshed brand identity, Centred Outdoors – one of our signature programs – has unveiled an updated logo of its own!
Designed to extend and complement ClearWater’s new visual system, the refreshed Centred Outdoors mark strengthens the connection between the two brands.

The ClearWater Compass brings our strategic vision into focus – connecting communities and landscapes across Central Pennsylvania.

Today, we are pleased to introduce ClearWater Conservancy’s new visual identity.
Over the past year, we’ve partnered closely with Cross & Crown to develop a refreshed brand that reflects the values at the heart of our mission: connection, protection, and responsible stewardship.
This work has resulted in a unified visual system including a redesigned logo, accessible typography, and a modernized color palette that communicates who we are and what we stand for.
The new emblem brings together three meaningful elements: a shield symbolizing protection, a fingerprint representing community and individual impact, and wave lines that illustrate the interconnectedness of land and water. Together, they express the clarity and unity required to meet today’s conservation needs.
ClearWater Conservancy has grown significantly over the years. Our work has expanded, our partnerships have strengthened, and the environmental challenges facing Central Pennsylvania continue to evolve. Our updated identity honors decades of community‑driven stewardship while positioning us for the future.

In this clip, Barbara Fisher reminds us what a privilege it is to live on this beautiful earth — and that we are not separate from nature.
She invites us to visit the land, let it infuse our souls, and remember who we are. Connecting people to nature has always been at the heart of ClearWater’s work; a value Barbara instilled more than 45 years ago.
While the land itself is essential, Barbara shares that what matters most is community and the connections we build when we come together with shared purpose. She encourages us to keep working together for people and place.

National Wildflower Week takes place during the first week of May, when much of the country is bursting into bloom. It’s a time to pause, get outside, and appreciate the beauty and ecological importance of native wildflowers. These plants provide essential food and habitat for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators that keep our ecosystems thriving.
In celebration, Centred Outdoors is hosting two Mother’s Day weekend Wildflower Walks through Spring Creek Canyon, a landscape rich in natural beauty and historic significance to Centre County. Participants will be guided by Terry Melton, ClearWater Conservancy board member and experienced plant enthusiast, who will share insights on wildflower identification and the incredible biodiversity found throughout the canyon.

In this clip, Barbara Fisher reflects on her hopes for ClearWater’s future and how the new Hamer Community Conservation Center helps bring that vision to life.
Barbara has always believed that connecting people to place is essential to creating a real, lasting change. She envisioned ClearWater as a true community hub, where physical space strengthens relationships, learning, and impact. The Hamer Community Conservation Center is the next chapter of that vision.
For more than 40 years, ClearWater has taken environmental challenges head‑on – restoring local watersheds, protecting critical lands, and making nature accessible to all. As our region faces increasing development and shrinking natural areas, this work has never been more important.
Support this important work by making a gift to ClearWater Conservancy during Centre Foundation’s 36‑hour online fundraising event, Centre Gives, happening May 6–7, starting TOMORROW at 8am.
Together, we’re building a future rooted in connection to land, water, and community. Join us in building a more sustainable future.

We sat down with Barbara Fisher, one of ClearWater Conservancy’s original founders. In this clip, Barbara shares why protecting and stewarding her family’s farmland was essential to her.
The Fisher property includes exceptional value wetlands and a high-quality cold-water stream classified as a wild trout stream. In 2007, the Fishers ensured this special place would be protected forever by donating a conservation easement co-held by ClearWater Conservancy and Heritage Conservancy.
At ClearWater, we believe the places where we live, work, and play should be protected and cared for. We’re nurturing a healthy environment and thriving communities in the heart of Pennsylvania.
Your gift during Centre Foundation’s 36-hour online fundraising event, Centre Gives May 6-7, makes that future possible. Together, we can protect the places that sustain us for generations to come.

Centre Gives kicks off Wednesday at 8 a.m.! 🎉
Please consider supporting ClearWater Conservancy so we can continue inspiring exploration and a love of place by connecting people to the outdoors. 🌿
Through our Compass Points strategic plan, Connect brings people together to experience nature—fostering appreciation that helps protect our streams, forests, and communities.
Our community outreach team is out in the community every day—tabling at events, meeting people, and building meaningful connections. Through Centred Outdoors, a program of ClearWater and a key part of this effort, people connect to nature through guided outings, adventure hikes, wellness programs, Jr. Naturalist Play Days, and speaker series throughout the year.
ClearWater’s Community Engagement Coordinator, along with other team members, plays a vital role in connecting people to conservation education—sharing what ClearWater is doing and how individuals can get involved. This work is essential to growing awareness and strengthening our community’s connection to the outdoors.
Your support makes this impact possible:
• Connect conserved lands and water resources
• Inspire exploration and love of place
• Build a diverse, connected community working toward permanent land and water conservation
💚 Help expand this impact by supporting these programs during Centre Gives.
