Just another Sunday at claypool, we have spacious hand building and wheel throwing areas, you’ll never feel cramped. We can accommodate private classes while our members create. There is always a studio manager or owner on hand to show new members around or offer advice (limited to 2 questions per day!). We even share lunch and many members bake cookies or cake. Looking for a clay community? We’d love to show you around and introduce you to our claypool world. #ceramicstudio #claypool #ceramiccommunity

The teapot is one of pottery's most considered forms — a body, a spout, a lid, a handle, each thrown separately and brought together with intention. Melody, who has long been drawn to ancient, meditative rhythm, and in this intimate masterclass at Claypool, she's sharing that practice with a small group of experienced throwers. Expect plenty of time on the wheel, close guidance, and the space to slow down and refine your work. Whether you're looking to deepen your throwing practice or ready to take on a more complex form, this is the class you've been waiting for. Only a few places remain — so BOOK NOW.

There’s something quietly magical about a teapot. The balance of form and function. The moment the lid fits just right. The pour that feels effortless in your hand. In this masterclass, we slow it all down and focus on the details that elevate a teapot from “made” to considered -spouts that pour cleanly, handles that feel natural, lids that belong. This is an intimate session with only a few places remaining. Plenty of guidance, time on the wheel, and space to refine your work. If you’ve been wanting to deepen your throwing practice or challenge yourself with a more complex form, this is your moment. Last spots now open — once they’re gone, they’re gone. Teapot Masterclass with Melody Brunton of @emi.ceramics here at Claypool. Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 1-5pm each day Wheel throwing experience required. Don't miss out if you are thinking about the beautiful art of making teapots as this is a one-off Masterclass.

From the wheel to the hand - this piece began as a simple thrown form, then evolved through careful alteration into something more purposeful. Soft curves are reshaped, a lip is formed and suddenly a pouring vessel emerges. Every mark tells the story of movement, touch and intention. Our members enjoy finishing their work with our beautiful dipping glazes. Enquire re our membership as we occasionally have spaces available.

Michael made his own glaze at our Glazes Demystified course. Here he has brushed it onto his own beautifully thrown bowl. Making your own glazes adds a great deal to the rewards of being a potter

My teacher, Chang Mei Yun, and I had a wonderful time presenting a demonstration and talk on Fa Hua Cai and Qing Hua with @claypoolgroup , sharing the techniques as well as tea with their members and guests from the public. A heartfelt thank you to Sue, Sally and Brett for their generosity, time and effort in supporting and promoting this cultural exchange. And also Kelly who volunteered to help with the set up. It was especially meaningful to witness the gift exchange between my teacher and the Claypool team, such a lovely moment of mutual respect and warmth. We hope everyone enjoyed the evening as much as we did. It was truly memorable for both Teacher Chang and myself. Special thanks and deep gratitude to @morningsun_s Asahi for connecting me with Claypool and helping bring this gathering to life.
