Claudio Sanchez presents: “The Jackhammer” The first line from Evil Instruments Premiering at NAMM this weekend, Coming Soon “Man Your Own Jackhammer” is a famous line from a revered Coheed and Cambria song, and now Singer/Guitarist Claudio Sanchez has taken it from the Fiction to the Real. The Jackhammer guitar is the first presentation from Claudio’s new guitar and music company, Evil Instruments. Claudio has been playing the mysterious guitar on tour for the last year, and now we know why. “As most of you know, I’ve played a Gibson Explorer for over 20 years, and like any artist whose identity has become synonymous with a particular make and model, I have always longed for a signature model,” Claudio said. “Since that hasn’t come to fruition, and keeping in line with my creative spirit and DIY methodology, I’ve chosen to create one from the ground up. A guitar that makes sense for me and is completely my own. We have developed this over the last couple years to meet my lofty aspirations... I present Evil Instruments’ Jackhammer.” The guitar was completely designed by Sanchez, with assistance from long time guitar tech Kevin Allen, and fine tuned and built by LA based Dunable Guitars. Tour has just started and there’s always something. I burnt my lip… might not seem all that catastrophic but my anxiety will be high while my raw wound makes love to a microphone grill each night. Anyway, I’ve been creating these quick little videos for my son to help keep us connected while away… he’s busy, I’m busy… sometimes a real connection can be a hard thing to expect. Over the weekend, a few drinks in…some friends and I came upon the topic of the 90’s revival and the moment the song IRIS is having, at which point, my buddy, @thesunnyclimbs (Brian) said, “Don’t you go and cover that!” 💡I can’t call myself a @googoodollsofficial fan. I mean, their hits were unavoidable back then, but I’m not entirely sure I ever owned a record.
