Do You #remember #the #time NIGERIA scored at its 1ST World Cup Appearance? And where were you? Nigeria’s first @fifaworldcup appearance was in the #usa on June 21 1994, played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The team, tagged as the “GOLDEN GENERATION”, led by manager @clemens_westerhof , stunned the world with their impressive performance. The Legendary Rashidi Yekini scored Nigeria’s first-ever World Cup goal, followed by @danielamokachi & @amuneke9496 adding two goals to seal the opening victory against Bulgaria. After defeating Bulgaria 3-0, Nigeria lost 1-2 to Argentina (June 25, 1994) but beat Greece 2-0 (June 30, 1994), finishing top of Group with 6 points and getting to the 2nd round. In the 2nd-round matchup on July 5, 1994, against Italy, Nigeria led 1-0 for most of the match but conceded a late equalizer to Roberto Baggio, eventually losing 1-2 in extra time 😔. Chai, Roberto Baggio! 😔 Rashidi’s celebration of him holding onto the goal net, is an iconic image in Nigerian & African football/ sports history. Fans have recalled that he was crying tears of joy, some interpret his vocal expression has him praising God saying “Alhamdulilah” (Praise be to God) and potentially his own name or “Nigeria” in joy. Nigeria would go on to make several appearances on the world stage. Despite failing to qualify for the soon to start USA/MEXICO& CANADA World Cup 2026( ironically same country of the debut), NIGERIA would still be represented but this time via #music , as it’s international stars billed to perform on the Grand Opening Ceremony, and also featuring on the official theme song for the World Event. Did You know? RASHIDI YEKINI is the Leading Goal scorer in Nigeria with 37Goals, but being trailed by you know who- VICTOR OSIMHEN with 35Goals. Can you name members from the GOLDEN SQUAD? 📽️ @fifa TV

Nigerian Livestock possesses one of Africa’s largest livestock populations—including over 20 million cattle, 88 million goats, and 49 million sheep—serving as a critical economic driver valued at roughly N30 trillion NAIRA! 🤯 Poultry is the dominant sector, with Nigeria acting as Africa’s largest egg producer. Key Livestock and Populations (2022-2026 Estimates) POULTRY: ~258.5 million chickens (plus turkeys, guinea fowl, ducks). GOATS: ~88.2 million, mainly hardy indigenous breeds like Red Sokoto. SHEEP: ~49.1 million.Cattle: ~20.9 million, primarily raised by nomadic herders, with growing investment in ranching. PIGS: ~9.2 million and other Significant populations of camels, donkeys, and horses in the north. SOURCE: Federal Ministry of Livestock Development Nigeria records huge daily consumption of livestock produce, leading to an increase in demand and less supply of said produce. This inability provides for opportunities and business potentials to fill the gap. “I Am because We Are” - this Ubuntu Philosophy Undeniably personifies our #classic #woman #wednesday Professor Dorothy Nkem Akunyili, popularly known as Dora Akunyili, a True Patriotic AMAZON, selfless and fearless. Born Dorothy Nkem Edemobi in Makurdi, present day Benue State, but brought up in Nanka, Anambra State. Seeing Phil Collins back on the drums hits differently. Before the global hits and sold-out tours, drumming was where it all began for him with Genesis. After years of health struggles and nerve damage that affected his ability to play, this moment is less about perfection and more about legacy, emotion, and a lifelong connection to music. ❤️🥁 🎥 @drumeofficial

The Fugees artist Pras Michel set to serve 14 year sentence 😔 The Grammy winning artist, Prakazrel Samuel Michel turned himself in to the Federal Correctional Institution in Safford, Ariz., following convictions of charges including conspiracy, concealment of material facts, making false entries in records, witness tampering and serving as an unregistered agent of a foreign power related to an international conspiracy involving Malaysian businessman Jho Low, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Low transferred $21.6 million to accounts belonging to Michel in 2012 “for the purpose of funneling significant sums of money into the United States presidential election.” Before Michel(Pras) turned himself in, he spent few days with his family. He also attended a Kanye West’s concert in Los Angeles, where he spent time in a suite with Dave Chappelle and Erykah Badu. His Fugees bandmate Lauryn Hill was also there and joined West onstage as a guest. The Fugees rapper is appealing the conviction. Red Gold: Palm oil has been produced and used in Nigeria for thousands of years. Ranked as one of the top five exporters in the world, the industry shifted from local sustenance to major commercial export during the 19th and early 20th centuries, becoming a cornerstone of the colonial economy before declining in the 1970s following the rise of the oil boom and competition from Malaysia(report has it, the seedlings where gotten from Nigeria) 😔 Palm oil remains, a key ingredient in West African cuisine, such as that of southern Nigeria: from the simple dish of boiled yam, palm oil and Kanwa salt, to Banga soup made from the mashed fruit left over. Many other “soups” can be made with it and eaten with pounded yam or garri (ground cassava)🤤 •Palm oil is also used used in soap making • It was used in the Benin Kingdom in street lamps and as a building material in the king’s palace walls. • It also has of a lot of medicinal uses. It can be used as a skin ointment and a common antidote to poisons. In addition, the sap of oil palms was tapped for palm wine, and palm fronds provided material for roof thatching and brooms. 💎 Make it a date every Thursday with @bdelliumconsult talking #agri #business Listen 🎧 live 👆(link in bio) @bukolatwentythree @thejiggyman 🧡💙 What dish or soup do you make using Palm Oil? 🤔👇🙏
