Our youth orchestra is returning to Ecclesall Church in Sheffield for our winter concert on the 30th December! Our programme combines orchestral favourites with modern classics for the perfect winter’s evening out. ⛄️
We’re performing three pieces:
Ravel - Bolero
Saariaho - Ciel d’Hiver
Brahms - Symphony No. 2

Orchard Square invites everyone to their Christmas launch event in partnership with @bbcsheffield and @classicalsheffield on the evening of Thursday 20th November!
🎄🌟 Join us from 5pm for an event which will see @elliecolts and @elliott1301 from BBC Radio Sheffield switching on the Square’s Christmas tree.
🎶🎤 Guests will have the opportunity to join a festive SING-A-LONG to see in the season alongside the talented choir members from @classicalsheffield who will a performing a selection of Christmas carols.
🥧🍷 FREE mince pies will be on offer to all - and why not treat yourself to a mulled wine too to make the most of the festive launch celebrations.
🍭🍹 Plus @cheapdatesbar Grotto Bar will be serving up Christmas cocktails all evening.
🍔🥘 And what’s more, between 4pm – 6pm Kids Eat Free at @sheffieldplate (with a paying adult meal) – perfect for those joining us after school!

One of the projects we feel so lucky to be involved in - bringing classical music to life in every corner of Sheffield for the biennial Classical Weekend Festival! 🎻✨
This year was packed with powerful performances, magical moments, and over 10,000 people joining the celebration in venues such as the Winter Garden, Victoria Hall, Upper Chapel, Sheffield Cathedral, St Marie’s Cathedral… there was even an opera in the Cannon Medical Arena!
The festival is a huge demonstration of what can be achieved when lots of people put in small (and large!) efforts - we’re honoured to play our part in helping to pull together all of those musical threads to create a symphony 🙌
Huge thanks to everyone who made it unforgettable and we’re already looking forward to the next one, bring on 2027 🩵
