The Clapton CFC Women’s and Men’s First Teams are going on another summer tour! We will be visiting Gijón for a double header of pre-season friendlies.
Subject to international clearance, we will be playing two fifth tier sides, @cfllosalin and @ucceares , back to back on Saturday, July 4 at the Campo de La Cruz stadium.
More details including kick off times and order of matches to come.
The FA has today announced that Clapton CFC Men’s First Team will play in the Essex Senior League after our promotion to Step 5.
The allocation of which club will play in which division across the men’s non-league football pyramid was released today and CCFC are due to be in a 20-team division.
There are mouth-watering East London derbies in store against Barking, Frenford, Ilford, Romford, Soul Tower Hamlets, Sporting Bengal United, West Essex and Woodford Town.
Further afield, there will be trips into Essex to play Basildon United, Benfleet, Great Wakering Rovers and their ground sharers White Ensign, Hackney Wick (in Witham), Halstead Town, Harwich & Parkeston, Heybridge Swifts, Hullbridge Sports, Hutton and Saffron Walden Town.
The list is subject to appeal but we can confirm that the Men’s First Team committee won’t be appealing for the first time in three seasons!
Geoff Ocran’s team will also enter the Men’s FA Cup for the first time, hoping to match some of our Women’s First Team’s heroics in the Women’s FA Cup.
Unlike our promotion from Step 7 to 6, the ground grading for Step 5 needs to be attained by the end of March 2027, rather than before the season starts.
Full list in the photo - green means promoted into the division, red means relegated into the division and pink means reprieved from relegation.

🇵🇸 NAKBA DAY DEMONSTRATION
🗓️ 16 MAY
📍The Queen's Arms, SW7 5QL
⌚ 12 PM
On 16 May football supporters, community clubs and antiracists will come together on the streets to join the Nakba Day march, commemorating the ongoing dispossession, occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine from 1948 to today.
We are also mobilising at a time when the far right is attempting to spread fear, hatred and division. Tommy Robinson supporters are planning to mobilise that same day. We cannot allow fascists and racists to threaten a movement for justice and liberation.
Football culture belongs to us ordinary people - not racists, fascists or flag-shagging divs. Across terraces and communities, supporters have always organised against discrimination, defended each other and stood up to the far right. Another football culture is possible: internationalist, working class, and unapologetically anti-racist.
Bring your colours, your banners and your mates. No to racism. No to fascism. Free Palestine.
16 MAY - JOIN THE FOOTBALL BLOC
Amazing is an understatement for that game! It was absolutely fabulous! Confident plays, great communication and shots!! A lovely friendly game too which is always a bonus! Also big up the ref for helping with our players broken shoe situation 😂
We were ahead with 2-1 until the last millisecond when they managed to get an equaliser which was unfortunate but still such an enjoyable game to play! So excited for next season! Watch out the comets are coming ☄️⚽️
