A shift from short-term winning to bigger-picture thinking can make a huge difference over time.
If you’re trying to make sense of that pathway and want some clarity around development, comps and long-term progression, feel free to reach out.
Over the years working with junior surfers and their families, I’ve seen how many parents are trying to figure out the best way to support their kids’ surfing.
This short course is something I’ve put together to share with parents what I’ve learnt about development and creating the right environment for young surfers. Send me a DM if you’d like any more info.
On my last day with Surfing Australia the crew surprised me with a farewell vid — this is just a quick cut from the 15min vid. Pretty special. Huge thanks to the legends in here and everyone else I’ve been lucky to work with. Love yas.”
Thanks @owenmilnemedia for bringing it together!
Close call yesterday. Hoping by sharing this reminder to look out for each other when driving jet skis. Even when it looks like nobody is there they could be underwater from a hold down. I guess there always risk involved but maybe there’s more we can do to keep each other safe ?
Do you really need to think about every part of your body during a turn? @clancydawson explains why less thinking and more intention might be what actually improve your surfing.

Excited to be rolling out my own coaching.
After 10+ years coaching Australia’s top emerging talent, I’m ready to bring that experience together and work directly with surfers and their families.
My focus is simple: help surfers develop high-level skills, progress their technique, and support families in creating the right environment for long-term growth. I’m passionate about helping athletes reach their potential — whether that means stronger technique, pushing boundaries, or chasing big goals in the future — while keeping the journey enjoyable for both surfers and parents.
Private coaching, air & innovation workshops, remote video analysis and mentoring are now available.
DM “BOOKING” for details or booking info.
Something new coming soon.
I’ve been working on launching a small run of performance surf coaching sessions here on the Gold Coast — designed for high level young surfers who want to step up their game up.
