I can’t help but reminisce bringing this complex individual from Alabama to life on the stage a couple of weeks ago. The journey to 1930s Harlem was challenging, but extremely rewarding. As a professor of movement, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the remarkable journey of self-discovery and growth in my students. It’s not just about perfecting techniques; it’s about exploring their bodies’ capabilities, overcoming physical and mental barriers, and continually evolving as movers and artists.

Working with such talented individuals over the past two years has truly been an honor. While it’s bittersweet to see them move on, I’m incredibly excited to witness their future endeavors.
