🇨🇦 Our Talent Wars panel at #CIXSummit tackled a timely question: Can Canada leverage DEI rollbacks in the US to attract top global talent? Industry leaders discussed how Canadian tech companies can seize this opportunity.
🔹 Kosta Panagoulias, @Jobtable , noted that hiring is salesmanship, the candidate shouldn’t be selling themselves; the founder should be able to clearly communicate their mission and get them to buy in.
🔹 Jude Sacramenthas, Graphite Ventures mentioned Canada’s has a great, diverse workforce to draw from for most roles. Outside of Canada, roles should largely be sales-based as the candidates will better understand that demographic.
🔹 Georgette Zinaty, @myantinc , emphasized collaboration over competition. If you can’t find what you need in your city, try another region or province. We can partner with universities, government and other companies to improve and accelerate what we do.
🔑 Key takeaway: Canada's commitment to diversity could become a significant competitive advantage in the global talent market - if we act decisively.
