Lesung aus dem Roman „Mit dem Wind fliehen“ von Ranjith Henayaka.
Sri Lanka in den 1980er-Jahren: Ein junger Freiheitskämpfer gerät zwischen die Fronten unterschiedlicher tamilischer Guerillagruppen,
die für einen unabhängigen Staat kämpfen. Nach schwerer Folter und Todesgefahr gelingt ihm die Flucht nach Deutschland. Doch auch dort
bleibt die Sicherheit fragil.
Die Lesung findet in Anwesenheit des Autors und als Begleitprogramm zur Ausstellung „Where Does the Crack Start?“ von Krishan Rajapakshe

Von 2016 bis 2024 fertigte Tilo Steireif rund 250 Kohlezeichnungen in zwei Skizzenbüchern zu den Memoiren des 1873 in Deutschland geborenen
Anarchisten Rudolf Rocker an. Als junger Aktivist gründete Rocker einen politischen Leseklub, wurde jedoch bald aus der Sozialdemokratischen Partei
ausgeschlossen. Nach seiner Flucht aus Mainz lebte er in Paris, musste wegen der Gesetze gegen Anarchisten weiter nach London fl iehen, schrieb dort auf
Jiddisch für jüdische Exilant:innen und wurde zu einer treibenden Kraft eines großen Streiks. Während des Ersten Weltkriegs wurde er als Deutscher interniert. Später kehrte er nach Berlin zurück, gründete die Freie Arbeiter-Union Deutschlands (FAUD) und emigrierte schließlich nach New York. Die beiden zweisprachigen Bände machen Rocker und sein Werk erstmals einem breiteren Publikum zugänglich – seine Memoiren sind bisher weder auf Deutsch noch auf Französisch vollständig erschienen.

Neue Zeichnungen und ein Baldachin. Die Zeichnungen werfen einen Blick auf die sri-lankische Gesellschaft durch die entfernte Beobachtung eines Alltags, der seit 1977 von der offenen Marktwirtschaftspolitik des Landes bestimmt ist.
The Collective Autonomy Reading Group invites you to join 𝘈 𝘋𝘦𝘣𝘵 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱. For at least 4 consecutive rehearsals, the group will engage with DEBT in its many shapes and apparitions, including: the historical relationship of debt with social institutions; the politics of the commons and capitalist accumulation; unpayable debt; the role of debt relations in the neoliberal project. Taking David Graeber’s “Debt: The First 5,000 Years” as a starting point, the reading group will let DEBT unfold in all directions, weaving through Silvia Federici, Denise Ferreira da Silva, Fred Moten and Stefano Harney, Maurizio Lazzarato, Lamia Karim, Verónica Gago, Max Haiven and others. 𝘈 𝘋𝘦𝘣𝘵 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱 culminates in a fuzzy-shaped open rehearsal of notes on debtor and creditor roles. Come add your marginalia.

THIS ENERGY WASTED BY FLIGHT— traces the trying of language: “first as fact, / then as claim; then finally as call.” Consisting of a long poem and a short essay, the book attempts to both unravel and complicate the she that speaks: gendered experience and its relationship to fragmented memory and the violence of narrative time; to sexual violence; to surveillance and grief; to solitude and collectivity; to song and dissent. "What if the hour is left incomplete?" asks the speaker, twisting and turning through the past, present and future all at once in its possession and simultaneous dispossession of the “‘I am.’ / ‘We are.’”. Oscillating between the gestures of daily experience, and the political and social conditions that shape it, both unflinchingly utopian and wildly sceptical in its outlook, THIS ENERGY WASTED BY FLIGHT— attempts to write through the continual negotiation between the desire to speak and the desire to keep your mouth shut, all the time chasing what it means to live out one's political convictions through poetry, and through life.

Band 1 der Publikationsreihe Zweierlei widmet sich der Auseinandersetzung mit der Umweltzerstörung in der DDR. Daniel Wolter verknüpft in der Publikation medienwissenschaftliche und künstlerische Ansätze. Er forschte dazu in der Robert-Havemann-Gesellschaft Berlin. Über seinen Zugang zum fotografischen Material der unterschiedlichen Bestände, wird Geschichte als ästhetisches Material in neuen Sinnzusammenhängen vorgestellt.
