I’ll be honest , filming the episodes made me a little nervous . Talking about where you come from , your family , what shaped you , is a complex experience. It’s different from sharing your work , deeply personal .
I grew up between Marseille & Dordogne , where meals were never only about food , they were about time . that slowness. the way my families , on both sides , could spend three hours at a table and no one would ever think of rushing. it was not hospitality, it was a way of living . I’ve been trying to recreate this for 10 years - not the wow moment of the impressive table , the feeling of being truly , genuinely taken care of .
The restaurant mentioned in the video was my grandfather’s , called Isabeau de Limeuil , I’ll dedicate this episode to my grandparents Jean Michel & Geneviève , and my father who’s not physically with us anymore .
