🔈▫️6:00am, NYD, 2019, somewhere rad, BNE, AUS▫️🔈 I welcomed in the New Year, with a sunrise set for the Let’s Get Minimal crew. I’d heard about their parties (which have been running for a decade) but my expectations were just blown out of the water in every way. For a pop-up, off-the -grid party, the consideration given to the sound, the location, and the particular ethos that drives their events - made it truly special. I sure wasn’t around for the original rave days, and I’m still relatively new to the scene in the scheme of things, so I’m truly grateful to parties like this for providing a bridge back to a time when it was just all about the music. These guys throw parties for the love of it, nothing more. As a guest, you are immediately greeted with that contagious, unifying feeling, of everyone coming together for the music. We, especially the new generation, need moments like these, so we can help to keep this shit real. So we are constantly reminded of where the scene came from; what it stands for; that it belongs to each and every one of us; and that their is no place for elitism in this house. Thank you to all of the groovers - some of which stayed till 7am, as passersby were on their morning walks and bike rides 👌🏻🤣. No one wanted it to end, and that was probably the most enjoyable set I’ve played to date. I’m still rolling in the feels. With releases on Resonance, Nonymous Records, After Midnight Sounds, the director of Camp Paprika events, and co-director of the forthcoming minimal imprint Pizmo Records (alongside Walker); An avid vinyl collector Summers is known for infusing a raw and authentic edge into sets at renowned events and clubs such as Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Earth Frequency, SASH. @walker_walker_aust As a multi-talented presence in QLD's music landscape, Walker resists genre-defining labels and channels the spirit of openness that was once the default in electronic music. When I reflect upon 2025, it was a year of multitudes. Deep inspiration, friendship, adventures, music, nature, family, creativity, breaking points, quiet moments, cheese, profound change, and pure joy. I commenced my dad jeans era, moved back to Brisbane after 5 years in Noosa, came out of semi-retirement to play for S.A.S.H, and redrew what was going to be physically possible for me. It was also a year of milestones, but the kind of wins that are underpinned by years of micro movements. Pulling yourself forward. Day by day. Moment by moment. It wasn’t a particularly loud year. But it sure was a really important one. So, as one deeply transitional chapter ends and another begins, thank you to all of the beautiful people who were part of my 2025. I really found my groove again, alongside homies, new and old. Happy New Year! I truly hope that 2026 is kind to you. See you somewhere soon. Cass 🫶
