Participating in @designbiennalerotterdam with my work Public Bench, on view in the main show What’s Real is Unfamiliar until March 2nd at W70.
Public Bench reflects on Amsterdam’s increasingly disappearing city benches. The city bench has been a fundamental object throughout my life and, to me, symbolizes togetherness and community by offering accessible spaces to all without discrimination. As an ode to all the time I’ve spent on and around them, its altered and fragile materiality challenges notions of comfort and permanence, questioning who truly owns public space.

Frontera from my solo exhibition “Recipes for My Happiness” in 2023
This work showcases my ongoing research into Western standardized production and socially accepted forms of aggression. Repurposed fences taken from my surroundings layered with high polished stainless steel that reflects brighter than a mirror. Questioning the concept of borders and to explore ideas of temporality, ancestry and spatial justice.
