This is #CirkularWeekly. Think of it like a love letter, in the form we know best 💿 …or a dedication from a friend who sends music instead of long voice messages 📞 Every Wednesday (or so), we cherry-pick 12 tracks that stuck with us: in the studio, on the walk home, or somewhere between two coffee refills. No rules, no genre loyalty. Folk next to electronica, punk brushing shoulders with jazz… Whatever’s been living rent-free in our heads. Random, yet eerily on point. We’ve been doing this for years, as a way to keep track of what moves us: when the studio lights are on, off, or somewhere in between. ˚ 🛋️⋆｡˚ Lately, it felt right to open the circle a bit more. What’s next? [◉°] We finally got all four of us in one picture, against colorful backdrops & in fancy clothes, so we might as well seize the moment & yap about ourselves a bit. #CirkularTeam origin story goes something like… this? A forgotten forum post led to Andrei starting his first band. A pack of chasing dogs led Dan to catch their opening act. (true story!) Then, after years of DIY music & shows, they figured that the local scene needs more daring, exciting music for you. Which sparked a wild idea: why not create this themselves? At the center of their idea – the studio. 🩷🎤Here, Andrei has been moving between cables & conversations with quiet precision, empathy & assurance ever since. Now he hears the potential in a half-sung melody, knows when to nudge a compressor or just let the room breathe. 💛🔆Dan, on the other hand, has been making sure your idea has a stage – staying warm, calm & upbeat while everything else is on fire. Already booking next year’s line-up, making a poster for local shows, or putting together a team for the next festival, Dan is a meticulous planner with an eye for detail & a real love for a well-built Excel. But if you ask the bands, it’s not the spreadsheets they rave about, but his backstage presence. 🧡💽 One of the first people to bring their ideas to us was Lazăr. This has turned into Alone at Parties & him becoming vital part of the #CirkularTeam. Nowadays he is responsible for big-picture decisions & long-term planning – helping us help you release your ideas into the wild. 💜⏭️Ready to invite you in is Arina: the latest, most-colorful addition to our team. Knowing how to turn the stories we tell into a space where you belong — both online and off, she is here to guide you through our studio, answer your questions & make sure that your music finds a community. You have asked us many times: "So, what e x a c t l y do you do?" Here’s our honest answer… Many things. 🌐 Shortly, we produce & book music. We started our studio in the heart of Cluj 8 years ago. 1 idea & 2 friends, clueless that it will spin into years of near-bankruptcies💸, white nights, too much beer🍻, countless friends, & a TON of love and support. 🎤 From the studio, we naturally moved to the stage & the people around us. 🎸 First, we started with concerts: from small clubs, to festivals like Electric Castle or TIFF. 🫂 Then, we invited you inside our circle: with workshops, film screenings & discussions that bring us closer. Today we’re a small team (4 & counting!) taking care of BIG THINGS. And yes, we have always done this. Except now we’re getting m u c h bolder with our colors. There’s a very specific kind of joy in watching your friends land exactly where they’re supposed to be ☀️ @aloneatparties at @santsat.ro felt exactly like that. Afternoon light everywhere. Andrei disappearing into mixes & last-minute adjustments. Dan somehow being in 5 places at once while still looking like he just stopped by for a polite beer 🍺 The band smiling through soundcheck & work starting to feel suspiciously close to hanging out. Like Alone at Parties at @athens.music.week 🤍 20:00 on the @goetheinstitut_athen terrace. Sunburnt indie tears pending. More of this, please. #CirkularLive #CirkularTeam

Mid-spring was about... Mental health walks to the studio, with bikes neatly parked by the door 🚲 Tramhaus live, all of us piled up in one photo: another reminder that we really love being in the crowd, not just in the control room 🎸 Arina caught off guard during an outfit check. Andrei signing sheet music very seriously – the kind of boring-but-essential task. The first sunburnt faces, officially sun-smooched ☀️ Jams between tasks, with Andrei testing space buns as a potential work hairdo. And in between it all, the AFCN application lighting up little bulbs in our heads. We’ve still got a bit to work on it, but we can’t wait to share what comes out of it. That's what #cirkudump is about. Everything we didn’t post, from the good & to the less good stuff.

Drums in the room. Cables everywhere. Noémi taking an analog photo of the Ákos while we take a photo of them taking the photo. The wonderful @muss.pell came in to track drums for their new single. If you've spent any time with their music, you already know: live drums inside that glacial dream-pop universe is not a small ask. Every mic placement is a negotiation between the organic & the electronic. A lot of distances to get right. A lot of listening before anything hits tape. The kind of session where the setup takes longer than the takes & that's exactly how it should be. So glad you brought this one to us, Musspell. Can't wait for everyone else to hear it. @muss.pell 🥁

Some faces more recognizable than others. All of us significantly younger. This is what Cirkular looked like before it looked like Cirkular — open doors day, 2018. Back when the paint was barely dry & we called it open. We've missed having the studio packed with many people. So we're fixing that, this Tuesday, March 17 at 18:00. We'll be talking David Bowie. For the 1st edition of Sound Encounters, a series created by our friends @ccgerman.cluj , we're opening the doors to geek out about his music. Not just listening, actually pulling apart the stems, isolating instruments track by track & showing you exactly how it was made, layer by layer. 🎹 We’re not sure if it’s affection or professional attachment. Probably both. Either way, we love synthesizers. If you’ve ever wanted to understand what’s happening when someone turns a knob and suddenly you hear 🔊wuuuuom🔊, #HowToSYNTH is for you. It’s a workshop where we take sound synthesis from "what does an oscillator actually mean?" to "wait… I think I just made something of my own." 60% theory, 40% hands-on practice, 4 sessions & lots of sound created from scratch. 🎹 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨’𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡 ○ A short history of sound synthesis, key terms & essential techniques ○ How to build basic tones and explore the variety of sounds you can create ○ How to expand your sonic palette using different types of modulation (Envelopes, LFOs, Ring Modulation, etc.) ○ How to craft rhythmic or percussive sounds ○ How to save and integrate your newly created sounds into future compositions or musical arrangements Details are in the slides & the registration link is in our bio 🌐🤍 We’re waiting for you at Ion I.C.
