Last month, our CIPA team attended Folk Alliance International for the first time in New Orleans! We met self-producing artists and producers in the music industry, had lovely conversations after panels and at our booth, and attended an incredibly diverse array of showcases — it was so rewarding to see Lousiana's vibrant musical scene well represented, and especially excellent to observe so many young and emerging professionals engaged across the conference. We'll see you next year at FAI 2027: Chicago! 🎶 Pictured Artists: 🌟 Cecilia Villar Eljuri @eljurimusic 🌟 Nikki 'D' & the @sisters_ofthunder 🌟 @sallybabys.silverdollars 🌟 Panorama Jazz Band of New Orleans @panoramalandnola 🌟 @anaeverling 🌟 @tajmahalblues 🌟 @crystalshawanda 🌟 @terrance_simien & The Zydeco Experience #CIPA #FolkAllianceInternational #FAI2026 #FolkMusic #IndependentProducer #CreativeProducing

One of the best things about this year's Folk Alliance conference in #NewOrleans was the preponderance of #music from #Louisiana. Here's a song from Terrance Simien & the #Zydeco Experience.

Last week in NYC, CIPA producers gathered with arts professionals from across the industry for a thought-provoking, deeply researched, and especially provocative discussion around Belonging with Intention: Creating and Presenting Amid Adversity. This searingly relevant discourse was led by @lesley302 (@thesaltonstall ), @shanefernandonc (@thalianhall ), @jsbenson72 (Marion Cultural and Civic Center), Cindy Sibilsky (CIPA staff, @injoyentertainment ), Beatrice Thomas (CIPA producer, @authenticartsandmedia ), and moderated by our Operations Leader Justine Bayod Espoz (CIPA, @toritomedia ). Our in-depth and pluralistic approach to responding to a dynamic moment was met with a deeply engaged, participatory, and responsive audience — we are truly transforming resistance into innovation! Thank you so much to everyone who approached us afterward to tell us this was the best session of the conference 😁 Did you have a favorite moment? Check out these highlights from the discussion! #CIPA #CIPAProducers #DEI #Producing #PerformingArts
