Beautiful Calla Lilies top off this lush bouquet of flowers and greenery. What a wonderful puzzle this was to piece together! The line cut with knockouts made the shaped puzzle a little trickier than some, but we found it to be just the right amount of challenge, slowing us down enough to truly enjoy the gorgeous artwork featured here. What a treat to do this beautiful traveling puzzle. Huge thank you to @kaitiebeepuzzles for sharing this experience with several of us in Canada. “In Bloom” will set off on its journey to the next puzzler tomorrow. 🧩 “In Bloom,” artist Kasi Béans, 540 wooden pieces from @the.puzzlelab  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

Seattle was my home for twenty wonderful years, and it was extra special for me to visit my cherished place via puzzle. The artwork is beautiful and the cut is quite intricate, featuring many Seattle landmarks. That intricate cut made things more tricky since it is a bit of a mirror image, so there were often two similar pieces that needed to be differentiated between the two sides. Interestingly, although Jeff and I worked this puzzle from the front, we often found ourselves puzzling by the whimsies and the various shapes of pieces. The Space Needle and the Great Wheel make an appearance, and I was happy to spot what I’m thinking of as Jimi Hendrix’s guitar. We were often saying things like, “oh, this is part of the Great Wheel” or “there’s the Fremont Bridge Troll!” I was especially fond of the troll whimsy because it is a favourite landmark of mine. The troll statue sits beneath the heavy traffic of the Fremont Bridge, holding a captured VW bug. I always found this iconic spot to be characteristic of the Seattle sense of humour. Slide through for views of the back and of my favourite whimsies. 🧩 “Seattle,” artist Capri Sadler @caprizie.art , 440 wooden pieces from @palmarispuzzles  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

I’ve always loved turtles and tortoises, both in real life and in puzzles. This wonderful beauty was sent from my friend all the way over on the east coast, @calvincollins847 , who thought I might enjoy it. I did indeed find the turtle really enjoyable to do, and once it was finished turned my attention to ALL.THAT.BLUE. Wow, did that ever slow me down! I think it took at least twice as long to do the blue ocean waters, even with the gradient tone. It felt like winning a prize when I placed that last blue piece! 🏆🎉💙 Thank you Calvin, for sending this beauty my way. I had fun puzzling it, even the rather challenging part. 🧩 “Free Dive,” artist Andrea MacLeod, 1008 pieces from @theoccurrence.ca 🇨🇦  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

Click.click.click.click. The rhythm of puzzling serenity. I love that sense of contentment that comes from picking up each piece and knowing right where it belongs. After doing an especially challenging puzzle, I wanted to spend an afternoon puzzling some fun artwork with a quick reward. This was a perfect one-day puzzle, swiftly sorted and then a fun cruise through to the end. 🧩 “Nova Scotia Shores,” artist @alysha__dawn , 500 pieces from @villagerpuzzles  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

🌎 Happy Earth Day! Today I celebrate and honour the beauty of our planet with this gorgeous puzzle. I’ve lived next to the Cascades for many years. They are the backbone of the Pacific Northwest, stretching from northern California to southern BC. Packed with dense forests and a huge network of lakes and waterways, they provide a home to a multitude of wildlife. One of the most beautiful times to visit is in Autumn, when deciduous trees glow yellow and orange amongst the dark evergreens. This artwork captures that contrast between bright and dark, letting us know that winter is on the way but there’s still time for celebrating beauty and the vivid colours of a mountain forest. Joan Metcalf is a favourite artist of mine, and I’d love to see more of her art featured in puzzles. I enjoyed every minute spent with this puzzle, which is good because it took a bit of time to complete (definitely a challenging panorama). Huge thanks to my good friend @evelyn.puzzling.delights , who sent this to me knowing how much I love these mountains. 🧩 “The Cascades,” artist Joan Metcalf, 1000 pieces from @pomegranatecomm  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

💚💛GREEN & YELLOW💚💛 antique Chinese spoons included for #puzzlethecolorwheel with @cantwaittopuzzle . Scroll through for some close-ups, the puzzle in its entirety, and the poem from the back of the box. What a wonderful experience it was piecing together a vintage Springbok from 1983. My husband Jeff joined me in puzzling this. He’s worked in the software industry for many years, and I knew he’d enjoy the computer theme. It was his first vintage puzzle, so that made it extra special for him. The fun cartoon takes a deep dive into the riddle that asks why the chicken crosses the road. However, as Jeff pointed out, “there was no danger of anyone learning anything about computers from this puzzle.” It really isn’t about computers or computing history, but that’s okay — we still enjoyed all the little cartoon panels and had fun chatting about the state of technology the early 80s. Many thanks to my good friend Dianne (@cantwaittopuzzle ) for sending this my way. Vintage Springboks are tough to find in Canada, and I really appreciate her generosity. 🧩 “The Inside Story,” a vintage Springbok puzzle from 1983  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

🧡🍊ORANGE! Spoon included for #puzzlethecolorwheel with @cantwaittopuzzle 🧡🍊 This is my first from The Puzzle Theory, and I was delighted by the quality — nice chunky pieces with a snug fit and deep, vibrant colours. Each box includes a cardstock poster and a reusable cotton bag, which I especially appreciate. Many thanks to my friend @calvincollins847 , who brought this local brand to my attention. It’s wonderful to puzzle something that is from a Vancouver puzzle maker with artwork by a BC artist. I’m excited to do more! 🧩 “Breakfast Party,” artist @artsami.w , 500 pieces by @thepuzzletheory  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

🌸 It’s cherry blossom season here in the Vancouver area, and to celebrate I pieced together this lovely artwork of “Spring in Japan.” I really enjoyed puzzling this one. It came together fairly quickly, with sections that are distinct from each other. The sakura (cherry) branches were, of course, the most challenging part. Vancouver has a great many cherry trees, and their annual blooming is a big indicator that Spring has arrived. I live close to one of the best spots for Sakura viewing in the metro area, Garry Point Park in Steveston/Richmond. There is a strong Japanese-Canadian history here, and to commemorate that heritage the park has over 250 Akebono cherry trees. We’ve visited a few times already this year, and I’ve included some photos of the gorgeous trees in the park. It can get quite busy there at the height of the sakura season, and we spotted several families and groups who were setting up picnics for Hanami (blossom viewing). What a treat to have this wonderful park in the neighbourhood! 🧩 “Spring in Japan,” artists Juan & Yuan, 1000 pieces from @elewhite.co  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

Here’s a close-up look at the puzzle with my thoughts on why I find puzzling the artwork of Josephine Wall to be such a fun experience. #jowallwedpuzzlealong with @cantwaittopuzzle 🧩 “Wisteria Way,” artist @jo_wall_official , 1500 pieces from @grafika_puzzle

It’s the last Wednesday of March, so it’s time to post my Jo Wall puzzle! I’ve been working on this for a couple of weeks now. 1500 piece puzzles take longer, of course, and this had some challenging sections. I really appreciated the slower pace, since it gave me more time to enjoy the wonderful artwork and all the beautiful colours. Wisteria are a favourite of mine, and I love that this is dripping with all those gorgeous flowers. In a few minutes I’ll be posting a short video reel, where you can take a close-up look at the puzzle and hear my thoughts on why I find puzzling her artwork to be such a fun experience. Check it out to see some of the amazing details. #jowallwedpuzzlealong with @cantwaittopuzzle 🧩 “Wisteria Way,” artist @jo_wall_official , 1500 pieces from @grafika_puzzle  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist

Fabulous artwork. Fabulous puzzle. This breathtaking sunrise sky deserves to be celebrated with a beautiful poem. DAWN REVISITED by Rita Dove Imagine you wake up with a second chance: The blue jay hawks his pretty wares and the oak still stands, spreading glorious shade. If you don’t look back, the future never happens. How good to rise in sunlight, in the prodigal smell of biscuits - eggs and sausage on the grill. The whole sky is yours to write on, blown open to a blank page. Come on, shake a leg! You’ll never know who’s down there, frying those eggs, if you don’t get up and see. 🧩 “Daybreak (fr. There’s a fun puzzle-along taking place during March, focusing on the beautiful artistry of Josephine Wall. We all know the artistic style can be challenging and take a bit of extra time, so Dianne has set up a month of “Jo Wall Wednesdays.” Post your progress and/or completed puzzles each Wednesday. I’m starting off the month with this lower piece count puzzle from the wonderful Palmaris puzzle company. It’s a bit different than much of Wall’s artwork, but the signature way she blends colours is front and center here. The browns aren’t straight up brown, but are a marbling of orange and red and yellow tones, making each piece quite beautiful. Scroll through to see the backside of the puzzle, where you can see the intricate cut work. #jowallwedpuzzlealong with @cantwaittopuzzle 🧩 “The Story Teller,” artist @jo_wall_official , 290 wooden pieces from @palmarispuzzles  #jigsawpuzzles #everydayimpuzzling #puzzlegram #dissectologist
