🚀I’ve always dreamed of studying the cimbalom at the best school possible. Back in 2018, with my then-clumsy English, I contacted all the top-ranked American schools. But at 19, I had no real experience of the world. Fortunately, I found my own path through
@northernstateu where I could study with the cimbalom thanks to Professor Marcela Faflak.
This experience opened up the whole world to me. It helped me master English and Chinese, travel internationally, forge lifelong friendships, and understand the U.S. educational system. After a successful undergraduate experience, I interned in Tennessee, performed, lectured, and planned my next steps with the cimbalom.
Two years later, I connected with
@berkleecollege , created a successful
@hithitcz campaign, raised funds, obtained an artist visa, and secured support from various foundations.
A week ago, after 10 intense months at
@berkleenyc , I completed my master’s degree and threw my graduation cap at
@jazzdotorg . I am immensely grateful for the visit of my brother, sister, and excellent colleagues Petr and Nikol Spěvák. Sharing this grand day with them was unforgettable.
I found an apartment just a ten-minute walk from Broadway, and although the cimbalom hasn’t made it there yet, it has been discovered in places like Wall Street, Juilliard, NYU, and achieved a Guinness World Record in China. I successfully defended my thesis and vision with the cimbalom at Berklee.
So, what’s next? I’ve decided to stay in New York for the next year to dive into dream projects and ideas. I look forward to this next significant challenge and can’t wait to see what it will bring. Maybe you’ll hear from me from Broadway next year! ;)
