The team saw Nagi Notes, Congo Boy, Parallel Tales, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, and finished with Propeller One Way Night Coach and saw director John Travolta awarded a Palme d’Or 🌿

A beautiful and busy day on the Palais! ☀️
The morning started with the Festival Hub Breakfast we were proud to co-host :) We mixed and mingled with other festivals from all around the world!
Then it was off to a Q&A with another iconic director- Peter Jackson 🧙♂️ and a special guest appearance from Frodo himself!
Finally we ended with a fabulous party at the American Pavilion. AmPav is our home away from home during Cannes. If the team isn’t in a screening, a Q&A, or a panel, they’re probably at AmPav networking with other filmmakers, festivals, and producers or just enjoying the immaculate vibes ✨
Starting off the festivities strong with a screening of Pan’s Labyrinth with Guillermo del Toro! 🤯
The fellows got an up close and intimate experience, and even got to hear the prolific director’s opinion on AI 🤭
Cannes may be known for red carpets, but for destinations like Northern Nevada, it is also where meaningful film conversations begin. 🎬
I’m here representing the Reno-Tahoe Territory and Cordillera International Film Festival to help position Northern Nevada as a film-friendly, visually unforgettable, collaborative region for future productions.
Film matters for tourism and economic development. It brings crews into hotels, restaurants, shops, and local businesses. It creates opportunities for local talent. It gives destinations a new kind of visibility, one that can live on long after the cameras stop rolling.
And Northern Nevada has a story worth telling.
From Reno to Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Virginia City, Carson Valley our region offers filmmakers cinematic variety, authentic communities, and a level of partnership that can make production feel possible.
This work is about showing up early, building relationships, and making sure our region is part of the conversation when filmmakers are deciding where their next story belongs.

Literally watched Cannes roll out the red carpet today 💃🏻
The team secured their festival accreditation and passes, settled into the villa, and watched the finishing touches get applied to Cannes on their first full day.
The iconic Cannes red carpet steps lead into the Grand Auditorium Lumiere theater which holds over 2,000 seats and is the primary venue for major film premieres during the festival.

We’re still thinking about our annual Pre-Oscars Gala and we wanted to show a little behind-the-scenes of how we got there!
We loaded everything in that morning and got to work transforming the Grand Exposition Hall into a beautiful gala space with raffles, a meet & greet, a red carpet, and multiple auction tables full of fantastic prizes.
From the balloon towers to the centerpieces, not an inch of the space was untouched by CIFF magic ✨
We are forever grateful to our incredible board, operations team, and volunteers who worked hard to make this night possible. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the night one to remember. We are so thankful for each and every one of you! 💛
