Cian Redmond

Constitution Hill (2023) is a short film shot on Super 8 #trix400 and developed by me very own hands during my residency @darkroom.ie . Putting a contemporary take on an early black-and-white flick, I wanted to show how phones are altering the way we communicate with each other in a satirical, slapsticky style. Michaela and Carl are dramatisations of typical characters from the heart of lovely Dublin. I wanted to break down the bravado of these Gen-Z’ers and put them in an awkward situation that most of us are all too familiar with. Massive thank you to the amazing @kate.brosnan and @tom_brennan12 for giving it socks, playing their roles so accurately. To @cilllg for helping me with writing and shooting the film. Back once again doing another window gallery exhibition @worm_rotterdam Thursday 11th. This time showcasing photographs taken during the process of moving and living in houses over the last three years of being in Rotterdam. “Moving houses is often described as one of life’s most stressful events. Since leaving home for Rotterdam in 2023, Cian Redmond, Dublin born visual artist and photographer has been documenting the transient nature of his living spaces. This exhibition looks back on a series of photographs gathered from a period of constant relocation, capturing the in-between moments of moving from one place to another: the ups and downs, the ins and outs and energy (or lack thereof) of moving houses. Shot on an array of formats, these photographs trace moments of humour, mess and tenderness amidst transition piles of clutter and clothes, trolleys filled with suitcases, accidental arrangements of objects and the quiet details and the people that give each temporary home its character.” If I’ve lived with ya or know ya I’d love to see you there. *POST PONED* tomorrow 19th September Hellooo! This evening from 6pm @segotia_dublin out in Rathmines I’ll be displaying some photos from the digital depths of my archives. Thanks to Zeda @notzeda for getting me in on her ‘Portrait of Éire’ exhibition which will run over the next few days for @culturenightdub . I’ll be uprooting a variety of photographs of varying iPhone qualities that you may have seen on my stories over the past [10 or so] years, highlighting my sense of humour towards Ireland, particularly Dublin. 5 of my favourites from a recent outing with @felicia.cruda Had been staring at the shadows cast on to this doorway adjacent to the studio for a good while. Worked out nice that Felicia had a tattoo to match them. Followed the sun around the block as it went down after. Thanks for the trust! Shot on lovely #portra400 and scanned here in the studio.

Some of my favourite photographs of Martina @martinafarrugia from a lovely portrait stroll we did in and around the studio. The light was gorgeous bouncing off of car bonnets and cutting shadows through walls and leaves of bushes. Shot on medium format #fomapan400 and a couple on #portra400 film. Developed and scanned both rolls here in the studio.. v v happy with how they turned out.

In and out of rain at the market with Ms. Deborah Mora @ddeb____ @orah________ Twas looking a bit bleak weather wise but we ran at it anyways, ducking in and out of the tarps to do a bit of fruit shopping. Trying not to get in trouble with the vendors we snapped these away discreetly. Hunting for these backdrops as well once it cleared up a bit was mad fun. !! Anyone wanting to go for a nice stroll and have portraits taken for artist profile pics whatever it is you dooo hit me up !!
