Singer-songwriter and Vice-President of CIAM Solange Cesarovna believes creators must understand both their rights and their responsibilities.
Knowing how to register works, manage intellectual property, and engage with collective management entities is essential. Empowering fellow creators, sharing knowledge, and maintaining dialogue with governments are all part of strengthening the creative ecosystem locally and globally.

Thank you to the Music Copyright Thailand (MCT) for being such gracious hosts for our Executive Committee meeting in Bangkok. It was an important occasion to focus on the needs of music creators across the Asia-Pacific region, specifically listening to the unique perspectives of songwriters in Thailand, India, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
Hearing directly from our regional partner alliances was productive as we finalized our strategic roadmap for the rest of 2026.

🗓️ My first full calendar year as President of CIAM, and it’s been one hell of a ride so far.
🌍 🎵 I’ve worked on establishing CIAM internationally as the global voice of music creators, and have connected with creators from all over the globe to share best practices, talk music and copyright.
🎤 I’ve talked about CIAM, the importance of copyright and creators, AI and much more on a wide variety of stages and panels (from Thailand to Costa Rica, from Lithuania to Saudi Arabia and from Kazakhstan to Johannesburg).
👏🏼Many thanks to the team (@luisaluna5 , my VPs @jucanovaes and @solange.cesarovna , Honorary President @archiviolorenzoferrero , and to the ExCo).

Fair Trade Music International has joined Music Creators North America and other songwriter and composer groups around the world in calling for transparency on the deals being announced between major labels and Generative AI corporations.
To date, no detail has been disclosed on how these agreements could impact the ingestion of copyrighted works by large language models or affect the fair remuneration of creators upon whose work the GenAI industry is being built. Transparency is the fundamental first step towards an equitable solution of this complex challenge.
🎵 Music Creators Worldwide Demand Transparency in AI Deals
CIAM’s partner alliances are calling for full transparency from major record labels and AI companies. Creators still don’t know how their works will be used — or how they’ll be paid.
