Pairing: Whilepairing starts in early spring (Feb.–April), peak breeding and egg-laying occur shortly after.
Laying Period: Occurs as early as March in some areas. Eggs are typically found throughout April and into early May.
Clutch Size & Incubation: Hens lay 8–15 eggs (sometimes up to 20) over 7-14 days. Incubation takes 23-24 days.
Hatch: Chicks often hatch between late May and early June, though some can hatch as late as July.
