To Marlo
Marlo was a handsome, bossy, confident, affectionate, expressive and vocal pup. He, like me, always looked a little concerned and was a little anxious but was also incredibly protective and sure of what he wanted and that whoever he wanted it from was going to give it to him. He was incredibly well behaved and sweet. He was our best boy. His favorite activities and interests included, but were not limited to: nightly perimeter checks, playing hide and seek with me, waiting for the very second Chuck sat down in his normal spot at night to catapult over me and cuddle up next to him, demanding cheese, barreling through gates if he heard the sound of an egg carton opening, getting all of his toys out one by one and flinging them around the living room during nightly zoomies time, yelling at me while I was on work calls or working past EOD, playing his favorite game “let me press this toy against you while I chew it”, giving kisses, greeting people by way of dolphin nose headbutt to the face, neighborhood walks, laying with his stuffies, doing this funny sort of prance/toddle whenever he was excited, and his absolute favorite pastime, extreme cuddling. Above all, Marlo just wanted to be with us, wherever we were, whatever we were doing, he was within a few feet if at all possible. He loved his myriad aunts and uncles and we were comforted by the friends who’d come stay with him whenever we’d peel ourselves away to travel, missing him the entire time.
Marlo was the center of our lives and anchored our home, and his energy and what he means to us will stay with us forever. This hole will be hard to heal, but the love we have built will carry us through.
