In the early years (early 2000s) our medical plan was to alert the local hospitals of 300 people running in the Chuckanuts and my Mom (a registered nurse) who was also serving soup at the finish line. As the race has grown and the sport has boomed advancing our medical has evolved as well. We are so thankful for the professional service provided by @primebellingham - from connecting with the local emergency services, coordinating finish line staff including the local high school Athletic Training program, to building a 20+ page emergency action plan and helping greet all runners at the finish line with massage and PT.
Bellingham benefits greatly having this all encompassing service for events and our day to day lives! Thank you Prime Sports Institute for keeping us strong and moving!
It’s one thing to have snacks and beverages in the middle of the woods while running long distances… but the Chuckanut 50k aid station crews bring themes, decorations, and plan costumes for months! As much of a priority as keeping runners fueled it’s equally important to bring enthusiasm and entertainment!

Will Murray is coming.
Two years at Chuckanut 50K, two eighth place finishes. Third time, he won it in 3:33:54, the seventh-fastest time ever run on the course. A strong start to his season as a Brooks trail athlete, with a golden ticket to Western States in his pocket from Javelina. The momentum is building.

Chuckanut 50K is still fresh on our minds as spring racing season gets rolling.
Andrea Lee took the women’s win at the Chuckanut 50K in 4:19:55, leading a Canadian sweep of the top four with Jade Belzberg second, Jenny Quilty fourth, and Bellingham’s own Sarah Paxson holding down third for the hometown crowd.

BIG thanks to the new water team that rallied on that rainy, sloppy Friday before Chuckanut to haul water and cola to our 5 aid station locations! Huge shout out to @trailheadathletics for putting the farmers carry to work on repeat to ensure our runners were covered!
**”you think races are about running…
But really they’re about bubbles, snacks, high fives, and seeing your people in the woods 🫶🏼
Two Dollar Aid Station showed up LOUD @chuckanut50
this is what local racing is all about
