Very last days to see PAUL ALBERT LEITNER’S PHOTOGRAPHIC WORLD (OVER 4 DECADES OF OBSESSION AND MORE . . .)! @paulalbertleitner
If you are in Graz these days, don't miss the chance to see this amazing, precise, always surprising work, full of references and humor!
On view at Camera Austria until August 17, 2025.

In these uncertain times, I am honored to contribute to Camera Austria International 169 (@cameraaustriagraz ), which addresses the alarming rise of right-wing populism in our society.
Orit Gat (@oritgat ) has written a powerful essay based on my photographic series Concrete Doesn’t Burn and my recent sculptural work. Nearly a decade ago, while working on the series, I recall a friend remarking that it conveyed a sense of societal shift. At the time, I hoped that shift would be for the better.
The text may be challenging for some, but it is rich with insight and sharp analysis.
I am especially grateful for its call to stand up and speak out. How much longer will we have the freedom to do so? Now more than ever, we must act and take a stand, each in our own way. As the editors, June Drevet (@junedrevet ) and Christina Töpfer (@chrz21 ), conclude in the preface, we should support organizations that create space “for a discourse that does justice to the complexity of our present day.”
My deepest gratitude to Christina Töpfer for her unwavering support and guidance throughout this initiative. I am also sincerely thankful to Orit Gat for taking the time to engage with my work and for writing with such honesty.
Good times at @kestner_gesellschaft where Ericka Beckman’s show “Fair Game” is still on view until next Sunday, January 9, 2022 ❤️💛💙
