Christal and I grew up together with the Deejays and Vinylphiles Club @ University of California, Riverside.
Back then, we always had a unique connection as singers.. And times were much simpler when we would spin records in front of the Student HUB or Belltower lol
So to be able to evolve as songwriters individually over time & then reunite now through this collaboration is truly a blessing!
In a literal sense, this song serves as a melancholic ode of lovers yearning for patience and unwavering faith in one another / this lifetime or dancefloor.
But in an abstract sense.. Christal and I can also be perceived as singing to ourselves on this song. Having the strength and courage to preserve ourselves by maintaining hope & passion for our musicianship + the challenges that coincide with our careers.

No, but honestly, creating with different forms of media & art in mind - movies, books, visual art- has given my creative spirit so much more breathing room. Indulging different soundscapes, styles of vocalization. No boundaries, no limits. Just how can we create the biggest impact at the intersection of these different artistic languages? They all enhance each other so beautifully.

That's why I love sync so much. Music to picture, to motion. How can my voice be used as an instrument to set the mood, to push a story forward, to make you feel something in THAT moment? In that space, I'm a happy lil cog in the machine.
