Get High “S/T” 1999 LP is streaming now everywhere for the first time!
•
Get High were a short-lived but deeply felt presence in the 1990s Boston hardcore scene, blending raw urgency with a melodic sensibility that set them slightly apart from their peers. Rooted in the community-first ethos of New England hardcore, the band’s songs carried equal parts intensity and vulnerability, reflecting a scene defined as much by emotional honesty as physical energy. Their debut LP, released in 1999 on Big Wheel Recreation, captured that moment with clarity and conviction. Though their time was brief, members of Get High went on to play in influential bands including American Nightmare and Dropkick Murphys, extending the band’s legacy well beyond its original run.

You can stream Get High now everywhere. They’ll be playing a sold out reunion show this Saturday 1/10 at The Middle East in Cambridge, MA with Six Going on Seven!
I’ve seen @weareamericannightmare at least twenty times. Every time it feels like the room is about to rip itself apart along with the band and the audience…
No polish. No pause. Just frantic release—sweat, bodies, voices all colliding at once. That chaos is the point. It’s the reminder of why hardcore mattered to me the first time I went to a show and still matters now. Every show feels urgent, like it might be the last one, and that energy never lets you stand still—whether you’re in the pit, on the stage, or behind the camera trying to keep up. TIMELAPSE ON LAST SLIDE
Loud. Honest. Unhinged in the best way.
This is what it’s supposed to feel like. Thank you @coldcave23@labouroflust@chromeoverbrass@bmasek@jimcarroll@weareamericannightmare@coldcavearchive
