Had the privilege to have my piece premiered a few weeks ago by these fabulous musicians! It was a joy working with them and learning oh so much!!
This piece explores different states of being and this fluctuating state I found myself in from spreading myself too thin this last year - this duality of tonality and stasis with microtones of unease and gestures that are held onto (just long enough)
Thanks to @grime_helen for mentoring and leading this project, and @oconnellcello and Stuart King for all the advice and your phenomenal musicianship and of course the wonderful @esterstalbergviolin and @_jamiemcclenaghan for playing their socks off!! ✨

Well that was splendid…
Last night’s premiere of El Gran Grifón, a co-created piece telling the tale of the Armada ship wrecked on Fair Isle in 1588.
The finale was the Unst Boat Song - sung acapella by Fair Isle folk in stunning close harmony, followed by Stu’s arrangement for the quartet. Not a dry eye in the house.
Brilliantly done everyone!
