Excited to share that our research team’s abstract has been accepted for an oral presentation at the American Chemical Society Spring 2026 National Meeting!
Our work, “Harnessing Agri-Derived Bioactives for Anti-Fibrotic Therapeutics: A Translational Framework Bridging AI-Driven Molecular Modelling and Clinical Dermatology" represents a nurse-led, interdisciplinary approach to developing accessible, evidence-based interventions for fibrotic disorders that disproportionately affect Black women.
The Problem:
Uterine fibroids, keloids, and Central Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) are three distinct conditions treated by separate specialties, yet they share a common underlying pathology: aberrant fibrotic and inflammatory processes. The lack of interdisciplinary research into this connection represents a massive gap in care and a missed opportunity for therapeutic innovation.
Our Mission:
We’re conducting a nurse-led literature review to elucidate the shared molecular pathways of these conditions, leveraging deep clinical expertise in dermatology nursing, AI-driven molecular modelling, and natural product discovery.
The Vision:
This research is not an academic exercise. It’s the foundational step toward developing novel, evidence-based, integrative therapeutic interventions, potentially from agri-derived bioactives, that can address these devastating conditions for Black women.
This is a “for us by us” approach: a powerful fusion of the lab and the clinic, designed to build a new, more holistic standard of care.
