ΡΑΝΤΙΚΑΛ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | In the ever-busier playground of Kypseli, this punk-ish bistro with Greek roots makes a surprisingly radical statement: normality.
You’ll find no faux nostalgia at
@rantikal.kitchen . No vinyl shrine, no deliberately cracked terrazzo floors, no overworked “Athens cool” aesthetic. Instead, Bowie watches from one frame, Johnny Cash flips the bird from another, Bourdain grins across the room, and a photo of Victoria Station anchors the place geographically — all against walls that are simply… properly painted. Fresh. Bright. Unpretentious. And somehow, in today’s Athens, that feels oddly punk. 🖤
The crowd mirrors the room: Kypseli’s alternative core mingling with theatre-goers, well-dressed millennials, and people who clearly came for both the vibe and the soundtrack. Punk and rock anthems pulse through the speakers while the lights flicker softly over tables buzzing with energy.
The kitchen, meanwhile, lead by chef and co-owner
@christsakiris is at its most compelling when it loosens up and plays.
Take the vermicelli with green curry, coconut, halloumi and zucchini for instance: somewhere between a Mediterranean pho and a very clever late-night craving, balancing heat, freshness and comfort with real personality.
Not everything lands equally. The kitchen can occasionally rush dishes that demand slower cooking and deeper integration, sacrificing some of the comfort their classic foundations call for.
But there’s undeniable momentum here — a refreshing, energetic voice more interested in becoming something than simply imitating something. And honestly? That already makes Ράντικαλ worth watching.
