Opening reception today. Art education has been refreshing. It’s easy to get caught up in the metrics and chase money but to see the light bulb go off for a young person is the most rewarding. Our imaginations are constantly policed but young people remind me to pushback and let go of some of the formalities that have held me back. In times like this, it’s more important than ever to support your community, especially as the system continues to disinvest in the programs people need most. Money is tight but that doesn’t mean we can’t give back. Excited for the new semester.
