The view from the end of the labyrinth in a tea plantation in Saint Joseph, Réunion Island. The patterning at the top edge is a lambrequin which are often hung from the eaves of Creole homes.
There were chickens and a rooster roaming amongst the shrubbery.
🤖Quick experiment, mucking around with colour, comp, texture, type, a little on portraits (though I sort of lost him round the corner with this angle).

We wanted the icons to do a few things:
• Provide a counterpoint to more formal aspects of the brand expressing reliability, clarity, etc
• Present Goldfinch as friendly but dignified
• Introduce the visual language of editing
• Pair that visual language with the activities of a diligent, energetic finch
• Acknowledge the world of writing by referencing the methods and textures of print
• Avoid standard corporate iconography
