Excited to share this recently completed project I started as a Jerome Resident at @mnbookarts During my residency I was DEEPLY inspired by a course I took with @_paula_mccartney_ Extra special gratitude and thanks to @ethanaarojones for amazing and nuanced image edits. Extra special thanks to @thomas__reiner for always standing by me.
(DON’T) STAND ALONE
2024-2024
Christopher Selleck
Edition of 20 + AP
(Ed 1-4 sold)
Drum Leaf Bind Photo Book
Moab Lasal Paper pages and cover
Dustjacket cover treated with Hahnemuhle Image Protectant
Christopher Selleck used a selection of his photographic images to create this artist book. His current, ongoing series investigates masculinity through the lens of body building. His photographic project started in 2015 and includes over 20,000 images. It has since grown to include printmaking, sculpture, installation, video, and book making. The title is a tongue in cheek reference to the idea that men should be stoic and strong resisting any and all external help. The men pictured are all seen as ordered pairs(not alone) except for Selleck whose singular image begins and closes the book. #bookart #bookarts #drumleafbinding #masculinities #portrait #selfportrait #bodybuilding #moablasal
I heard my book (DON’T) STAND ALONE might be on view at @hclib and didn’t have to look hard to find it! Loved seeing this in a case with so many other talented artists!! Thanks to Bailey Diers for including me in the HCL Special Collection!
Some people! This lady plays the word QADIS and then sees it later and wants to challenge it! After getting smoked playing during my last visit, I’ll happily take the W! Big and little losses and wins lately feels like laughing and crying at the same time but getting to hear how handsome and kind I am all weekend is better than anything.

22 years continuous sobriety today. I’ve met so many people through recovery and have been helped by so many family members, friends and people I’ve never met too. There is a common purpose in that journey of recovery that goes beyond race, class, gender, sexuality. I wish that basic acknowledgement of each other’s humanness could exist in more and more places. It seems like a weird time to be sharing but if you are struggling with drugs and alcohol please know the help is out there!
Christmas pics with @thomas__reiner and FAMILY and FRIENDS! First time NFL game but not my first time w carmel rolls inspired by my Grandma plus more than few other baked goods! @txlomas@madelinelomas@emily.rickaby
Time is running out you see MIRROR//MIRROR at The Kiehl Art Gallery at @stcloudstate . Thanks to @justinquinninfo and students of SCSU for hosting. Spent the evening documenting and reflecting on the exhibit. On view thru Thursday.
Excited to share this exhibit opening next week! I have been working on it in the background all summer and I’m very excited to be showing some new things and reimagining some older things too. I try to put 110% into every exhibition opportunity I get, and I’m thankful and grateful for the opportunity to experiment with big open spaces like this! Big thanks to Justin Quinn and the Art department faculty and staff at SCSU for reaching out! Hope to see you there next week!
