Developed during a time of relocation and altered domestic rhythms, the works consider how interior psychological experience shifts alongside changes in landscape and season. Dense, atmospheric, and quietly charged, Christopher Daharsh’s paintings explore memory, perception, and the passage of time in We’ll Understand It When We’re Older, his two-person exhibition with Alicia Adamerovich in Wellington, FL. Emerging from the artist’s experience of rural environments shaped by seasonal change, the works build through layered oil and charcoal surfaces that feel at once geological and ephemeral. Shifts between density and openness suggest cycles of suspension and renewal, while the works on paper introduce a more immediate, gestural energy. Together, the paintings create contemplative spaces where environment and inner experience subtly converge. ✨ Exhibition Announcement + Artist Talk ✨ We are delighted to announce ‘We’ll Understand It When We’re Older’, an upcoming two-person exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Alicia Adamerovich and Christopher Daharsh — marking their first exhibition together and their debut in Wellington. To celebrate, join us on Wednesday, February 18 for a special Artist Talk moderated by Art Patron and Cultural Leader Annie Taylor, followed by the opening reception. The evening begins at 5:00 PM with a welcome reception, the conversation starts at 5:30 PM, and tacos & drinks follow at 6:00 PM. Married and based in New York, Adamerovich and Daharsh bring distinct yet deeply attuned practices into conversation. Working through abstraction, their paintings and drawings move through lived experience, environment, and emotional presence. Organic forms swell, drift, and gather — suggesting inner states as much as imagined landscapes. Shown together, their works create a quiet but resonant dialogue shaped by intimacy without sameness, where repetition, growth, and transformation unfold across the gallery.
