This country isn’t free… At least not anymore.
When I was young boy, I was taught that being born and serving the United States ensured me life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
And after thirty years… when I asked my country to ensure the rights we were promised… we were gifted with a distinguished level of hatred, racism, legal injustice and threats of deportation and threats of assasination.
And perhaps worse still… a vast and shameful number of people I had once considered great friends, colleagues, and even people whom I had admired, began to turn an eye and even campaigned for our deportation and elimination.
For those of you who actively campaigned for our deportation, spread crudely-made lies, assumed some kind of illicit doings, extended retorts that included messages like “I hope Trump deports and kills your Mexican family”, and made threats against our lives… Don’t call me. Don’t ask me for favors or to film your next movie.
This country just showed us its true colors, and as it turned out, we didn’t need their help to find out we had our freedom all along.
Never let ANYONE take your rights away.
