Taking The Slow Ride.
.
Lanie dropped her first EP this week called “Polaroids” . It’s full of bangers but this one never leaves my head. Such a feel good groove. Please go play the hell out of it so we can play it everywhere.

Played the freakin Today show. Good thing I didn’t smile too much.

I’ve been watching The Today Show for as long as I can remember. Every day before school. Before I even knew it was a dream to play music. My mom loved it. She took me to NYC when I was around seven. Just the two of us, a paper map, and what seemed to be the longest drive ever from Florida. I played navigator and I remember sometimes sleeping at rest areas along the way to save on hotels. We had a place to stay with friends in Jersey but from what I know we probably didn’t have enough money for the trip. She always wanted to travel so bad and show me the world. I have a vivid memory of experiencing a basement for the first time. Absolutely blown away by how much is underground in this monster of a city. I remember the twin towers. I remember how much bigger everything was. I remember walking up to Rockefeller Plaza and it feeling unreal to me. We didn’t catch the live show but it was still a shell of what I got to watch every morning. Every little detail was still there. As I grew older the thought of playing the Today Show was bigger than I could ever dream of. My heroes played this show. Yesterday all felt like a fever dream. My mom wouldn’t believe it. It’s all so insane. I’m forever grateful to the LG crew for helping make a silly dream become a reality. It’s something I’ll hold close to my heart forever and something my mom would be so proud of.

Insane venue. Jimi Hendrix played here. The Beatles. Prince. The list goes on. Had everything set up for a perfect show and our backing tracks went out on the first song. Rolled with the punches and had to get creative with our transitions. Playback isn’t something you need but I think these days it’s a big thing for a lot of band’s sets. The whole show was built around it. It’s a really great feeling when you can all lock in together and pull it all back. Reminds you what music is all about.
Last night we played to a sold out @theorionamphitheater
with @laniegardner . Weather was perfect. Crowd was perfect. Twas a night. Feeling very fortunate
