Double rodeo, in real time & again a little slowed down & with a ramp. What do yah like better? I tried the same trick on this jump exactly 10 years ago while filming for The Manboys movie, and couldnāt get it. This time around I had the @mikeyciccarelli energy with me, and he easily convinced me to start going for it right out the gates. Him and I went toe to toe on the session, putting our tricks to our feet each time, but falling or washing out. Finally, on the 4th try I got this one. Always nice to put something down that you only have the opportunity to try every few years. If you havenāt watched āThe Realmā yet, go check it out. Linked in my bio.
Probably my favourite line from last winter. Fun cliff entrance into this line as well. It took patience with such a touchy snowpack, but felt good to finally get on some larger terrain last winter. Seen in Tango Echo November, š Film by the Manboys
I've known @chrisrasman for well over a decade, back to the days when I used show up at his home, the famed Whistler Art Barn, to shoot BB guns in his back yard, pass out on his trampoline and show up at Garfinkels after I would sharpie the club stamps on to my arm. š
For well over 5 years I've been telling him I'm gonna get a sled next year. I'm sure at some point he stopped believing me, but after a season of learning I was hyped to finally make true on my word and catch up with Ras for some days in his dojo, cruising around and getting a little experimental on some shots.
Truly an honour to get to watch this guy operate in the backcountry.
The power of a loaded snowpack, big cornices, and spring sunshine... 7:53pm, April 1st. I caught this slide on video by accident. I was pulling over to simply film the scenery. Definitely had a quick moment wondering if I should be slamming the truck in reverse.
A back 7 this day, last year for @keenanjeff ās birthday.
This day was special. Leanne, Brendan, Lucas, and a big group of Jeffās family and friends headed up to Whistler to put up a memorial plaque, and honour him.
Our crew was struggling to decide what to do. It had been a tough winter, and we were trying to finish our movie. It was probably the last day of the season with decent snow, so we chose to go out filming. We reminded ourselves that Jeff would never miss a bluebird powder day in the alpine, and figured heād be stoked knowing we were snowboarding on his birthday.
I was coming off a little injury, so I opted out of hitting the feature. While the boys built, I stomped out a big JK in the background of the in-run. Then I sled-shuttled Brin and Darcy while they put on a clinic and clipped up for the Realm.
When the session was finished, Rusty suggested I do something mellow to get a clip in the bag with the JK initials in the background. Iām really glad I did.
Miss you JK , Happy birthday !ā„ļø
