A truly Happy Valentines Day with a most epic love. The last few years have been a trip, a surprise to say the least (swipe to the end for a surprise for buds who may not already know). After moving in with my humans (parents?) I needed a name. With some call and response testing, there were names which felt like they could work but mom and dad weren’t quite sure of the best forever name for me. We invited some besties over for treats, snuggles and a name voting game. There was a clear winner but we couldn’t accept the one single name and decided to give me a full family name. That’s cool, I like variety. When my parents say my first name, I laugh diabolically “bwahahahaha”. When they say my first and middle name together I feel the pressure of family legacy, which I can handle, no problem. And when they say my full name there’s either paperwork to fill out or I’m in trouble— either way. Uh oh. Ok… nice chat. So when is lunch?

Here’s a little bit about my name - my first name is Risa, which is Laughter in Spanish. My dad has the best last name 😂. My middle name is Moon, since my great great grandfather is Xu Zhimo, and he created the Crescent Moon Society.

Recently, an opportunity to attend a recording session at the famed United Recording Studios (@unitedrecording ) presented itself. Having once been a studio of choice for Frank Sinatra, Brian Wilson, Sir Paul McCartney and many other greats, the space has been shuttered as an operational recording studio since February 2023 and is now only being rented out as a location. Insert Hollywood Scoring (@hollywoodscoring ), who realized an opportunity to bring their musician friends and mobile recording studio into this legendary space to help keep it alive as originally intended.
A casual conversation with HWS colleagues about their upcoming initiative generated my interest to attend this session with a camera, and the opportunity to be present for a day of beautiful music was an absolute treat.
Sometimes there are moments for brands and businesses which are a shame not to capture, this was one of those moments for Hollywood Scoring. I’m happy we seized the opportunity.
