What do you do when your first job out of college is at Trader Joe's? Low-income college grads who lack professional networks often find themselves underemployed. Either having to work in retail, fast food, or in the gig economy just to get by. So to talk about this, I went to Iceland! 🏔🇮🇸 Here I interviewed @deeeeezzzyy about his experiences navigating school as first-gen student from Oakland and what it took for him to start his career in Bio Tech. *** TW: Family deportation *** If you're watching the series, lmk so I can personally say thanks! lol And if you want to show support, a like or share is always appreciated 💯%

Episode 1 of On The Rise is live! College in the US is EXPENSIVE! Despite gov. grants and loan repayment programs, low income students still struggle to pay for college. So my friend Kathy and I go in-depth the various tactics to find, apply, and win scholarships. She’s won over $30,000 in college scholarships and knows a thing or two on how other students can do the same. But first, is college worth it? Full vid linked in my bio :B

For the past year, I've been working on a series interviewing first-gen college grads for my site. And after a ton of hiccups and endless YouTube tutorials, the first 4 interviews are finally finished! 🙌🏼 I dive into their experiences navigating: • college debt • grad school • underemployment • & their general confusion as twentysomethings. If all goes to plan, part 1 premieres this Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022. So tomorrow lol. Link to the playlist is in my bio! *** Hopefully, these interviews provide some relief and clarity for students and college grads still trying to figure it out. Because despite how crazy life may be, their stories are still be written. In fact, they're on the rise! *** And if you read this far, you're a real homie and I love you. ❤️ If you wanna show your support for this project, liking and sharing this post on your story would be cool! 🙌🏼 Regardless, I hope yall enjoy the series. Ya boi, Chris ✌🏼
