How I edited THIS photo ⬇️
Some people will probably say this is TOO much editing or that I took too much out, blah blah..
I see shooting as only about 30% of photography. The other 70% comes from editing. To me, the RAW file is like the sketch and the final edit is your final painting. 🖼️
I don’t do this to EVERY single photo, but practically all of my photos have some level of masking and basic removing involved.
My philosophy is that if something TAKES AWAY from the mood or idea of the image, remove it. For myself, the people in the background took away from what I was trying to convey, so they got the boot. 🥾

Is this TOO much editing?? 🫵🤨
STORYTELLING IN SPORTS ⬇️
Here are the 5 shots I aim to get in order to convey a story in my sports photography 📸:
1) Detail Shot: A detail shot captures the subtle, often overlooked elements of the game, such as the texture of uniforms, the markings on the court or field, and other nuanced aspects of the environment. Incorporating detail shots enhances the depth and variety of a gallery, providing a more comprehensive and engaging visual narrative. 🖐️
2) Mid-Range: Mid-range shots effectively capture the subject within the flow of the game or atmosphere, providing valuable context while maintaining a sense of intimacy with the player. These shots balance action and environment, offering a well-rounded perspective that enhances the storytelling of the gallery. 🤙
3) Wide Angle: Wide-angle shots capture the full scope of the scene, offering the viewer a broader sense of the atmosphere and providing greater context to the action and overall game environment. 💪
4) Close-Ups: Unlike detail shots, close-ups focus primarily on the individual player, often minimizing the surrounding environment. These shots create a sense of intimacy and highlight the athlete’s personality and emotion, adding a personal connection to the gallery. 🤏
5) Motion Blur: When used effectively, motion blur can convey the speed and intensity of the game, giving the viewer a deeper understanding of its flow. It also serves as a dynamic contrast within the gallery, breaking away from more static, focused shots and adding visual interest. 🏃💨

Support other photographers!! 🙌🏼📸
Too many photographers, even ones I’ve known, are disingenuous and gatekeep anything they can, belittling smaller creators. Just because you didn’t have that support while you were starting, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t! 🤍

This is my desk setup as a full-time photographer! 🖥️
I want to make it clear that you do NOT need everything I have. I got all of this gear over about a 3 year span and went through a bunch of gear in the process! 🙃
@sonyalpha dropped an absolute NUKE today with the A7RVI 🤯
This camera is insane. 66.8mp stacked sensor, AI autofocus tools, backlit buttons, 8k/30fps or 4k/120fps, IBIS, and SO much more. 📸
This is definitely on my radar for my next camera pickup. Do you think it’s worth it? What surprised you most? Will you be picking this up?? ⬇️
