Always grateful inspired when I get to witness my dad in a creative zone. Also, I made a pretty important realization after watching him turn my sad, sad attempt at a firepit into a masterpiece.
So you know how we get half our dna from both of our parents? I think my dad was very selfish and did not give me any of his creative/artistic genes. That's pretty messed up and I'm not happy about this. From what I've surmised, I inherited all of the negative neurotic aspects of a creative/artistic person BUT NONE OF THE ACTUAL CREATIVE/ ARTISTIC PARTS.
This lil wood stove has been a game changer. Simple, straightforward. Keeps me warm and cozy at night. Makes great cup of coffee in the morning. My only complaint is that the conversations are a little one sided. Also terrible smokers breath.
Have you ever had one of those unexpected flashes or glimpses of the future that comes out of nowhere? And it feels so real that it's more like a memory than imagination. Kinda like a memory that hasn't happened yet.
There was a particularly vivid one recently where my mom, my brother, his gf, my dad and his wife were all hanging out on our farm. There was no tension or negativity. We were simply there and everyone was okay. At Peace. And somehow the farm helped that happen. It was really nice. It got me a little emotional. I might've cried... Okay, you're right, I did cry a little. Okay, okay, okay... I cried for an embarrassing amount of time. -
I was thinking the other day about how it's been a decade since we've all been together in the same place. I just didn't see how it was possible. But maybe I gave up too easily. Whatever that glimpse was sure made it feel possible. I'm not sure... I'm just thinking out loud now. What was this post about? Oh yeah, new herbs are in the ground!!! This here land hasn't seen these herbs in ages! Little trivia... we used to sell these to supermarkets like Ranch 99. If your parents used to shop for herbs at Asian markets in OC back in the day, chances are you might have consumed something I sneezed on.
Can't wait to share more!
