“What does being Original represent to you?’”
My parents inspired me to be original. My Mum, a hugely creative and inspiring woman with a keen eye for detail, embodied patience within her craft and set the foundations for me as an artist. My Dad, who worked in the film industry, showed me what hard work looked like from an early age. A keen writer with a great sense of imagination, he opened my eyes to an industry where you could be creative and thrive.
Another person that’s an important original figure to me, and one that was key to the formation of the Soho Warriors, is Gerhard Stochl. Gerhard is a skateboard photographer and the man behind the @cscnyc . Seeing the way in which he built CSC was super inspiring, showing me a totally new way of what a football club could look like. From blending the creative scene with the football world, to his passion for documenting the people in and around his club, he introduced a diversity in the game that I don’t think had been seen before. The community he has built in New York set the benchmark of what we wanted to achieve with the Warriors.
