I popped out today to visit @chriscyprus gallery/studio at the @woodend.mill.mossley
I absolutely love his work and it was great to chat to him again about art, colour, nature, life, creativity and the art business itself.
My heart space literally opens when I see his paintings; I find them incredibly moving and I particularly love his trees.
Go buy some art peeps 💜🥳

‘Tall trees’ Oil on canvas. 50x45cm
The amazing viaduct in Uppermill is an outstanding example of stone architecture from the Industrial Revolution of the late 19th century. Its height is impressive but the curve is mind blowing!

On the easel…..
The lock bridge. Oil on canvas.
I waited patiently for a couple of weeks to get the contrasting weather and the peak blossom by one of my favourite local scenes. It’s now a regular spot on my walk to work and I first painted this bridge in the late 80’s for my art exam at school.
That painting ended up on the headmaster’s wall and I never saw it again!
Just adding some sunshine and life to this new painting.

This will be included on the platform at Mirfield railway station soon for my ‘Routes to Roots’ public art exhibition and art trail on the Transpennine route from Manchester to York.

A new era. Oil on canvas.
As part of my ‘Edge of the city’ series I have been wandering around urban areas just outside the city centre. The old parts of Manchester fascinate me like old ramparts with the dazzling new city beyond ageing them increasingly as it grows. These are the parts that I remember as a child growing up here and the new buildings are unrecognisable and highlights the age between us.
