The day i took the 3rd photo, i kept bringing up how nice it would've been to hire a grupo for mom's birthday. After a couple of hours, this man showed up and offered to play a couple songs for some cash. Ive never seen him there before but he said he can come back the next time im there. Just shoot him a message. we had a drink together and he went on his way.
It’s Wednesday & today’s southwest feature is the one & only @chris.mooon out of Phoenix arizona 🌵

"My favorite shot is an accidental long exposure I took of two men hugging [image 1]. I remember taking the photo and realizing the shutter didn’t close, the flash went off, and I felt devastated. When I saw the scan, I was really surprised by how it came out. The men were perfectly frozen by the flash, but the world around them seemed to be spinning out of control."

Chris Luna (@chris.mooon ) won 1st Prize in our recent Scenes of Life competition with a memorable street shot [image 3], perhaps in some way allegorical of our times, and which judge Damarice Amao praised for “the contrasts it manages to capture in a single shot.”

Keen to learn more about the shot, as well as Chris’ wider approach, influences and future plans, we put some questions to him… Read his responses and see more of his work at /journal or the link in bio.
