🌱Στο πλαίσιο του τρίτου επεισοδίου του εκθεσιακού του προγράμματος με τίτλο Η Ρίζα που Πάλλεται/The Palpitating Root, το ΦΑΝΚΑ Florina Art Residency, συνεργάζεται με το Λαογραφικό Μουσείο της Λέσχης Πολιτισμού Φλώρινας όπου από τη Δευτέρα 20 Απριλίου 2026 θα φιλοξενείται το έργο Υψηλό σημείο για κάποια άλλη διαίρεση του χρόνου (2026) των Phantom Investigations (Ινώ Βαρβαρίτη, Γιάννη Δελαγραμμάτικα) σε επιμέλεια της Χριστίνας Πετκοπούλου. Το έργο θα κατοικήσει τη μόνιμη έκθεση του εκθεσιακού χώρου του Λαογραφικού Μουσείου Λέσχης Πολιτισμού Φλώρινας (Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου και Ι. Καραβίτη) από τη Δευτέρα, 20/4 στις 19:30 και θα είναι προσβάσιμο στο κοινό κατά τις ώρες λειτουργίας του (κάθε Τετάρτη 18:00-20:00).
🌱As part of the third episode of its exhibition program titled The Palpitating Root, FANKA Florina Art Residency collaborates with the Folklore Museum of the Florina Cultural Club @laografiko.florinas , where, starting Monday, April 20, 2026, the work A High Point for Another Division of Time (2026) by Phantom Investigations (@ino_v , @giannis_dela ), curated by Christina Petkopoulou, will be presented. The work will inhabit the permanent exhibition space of the museum (Megalou Alexandrou & I. Karaviti) from Monday, April 20 at 19:30 and will be accessible to the public during its opening hours (every Wednesday 18:00–20:00).
The work A High Point for Another Division of Time (2026) is an installation consisting of a sculptural object functioning as a marble inscription of a votive nature, dedicated to the historic flood of the river that runs through the city of Florina. Archival documents, photographs, and research material are arranged in a visual flow parallel to the flow of the museum’s permanent exhibition, parallel to the flow of the river, which passes just a few meters away through the city, through yet another flow within and beyond borders, dividing and reuniting, constantly changing places and names until it ultimately converges with the unified body of water.

Στο πλαίσιο του δεύτερου επεισοδίου του εκθεσιακού του προγράμματος με τίτλο Η Ρίζα που Πάλλεται/The Palpitating Root, το ΦΑΝΚΑ Florina Art Residency, @fankaresidency συνεργάζεται με το πρώτο @florinaiff Florina International Film Festival (FIFF) και παρουσιάζει τη φιλμική εγκατάσταση Η Δάφνη ήταν ένας κορμός που κατέληγε σε φύλλα / Daphne was a torso ending in leaves (2024) της @catrigallagher Catriona Gallagher σε επιμέλεια της Χριστίνας Πετκοπούλου. Η φιλμική εγκατάσταση θα φιλοξενηθεί στο Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης Φλώρινας (Ταγματάρχου Φουλεδάκη 8) κατά τη διάρκεια του φεστιβάλ από την Πέμπτη, 19/2 στις 18:00. Μέσα από τη σημειολογία και τις συμβολικές ερμηνείες του αρχικού μύθου, που έχουν διασχίσει ποικίλα χρονικά πολιτιστικά και ιστορικά συγκείμενα, το έργο επαναπροσεγγίζει την ιστορία μέσα από ένα ποιητικό, οικοφεμινιστικό πρίσμα. H έκθεση υποστηρίζεται από και βρισκεται υπο την αιγιδα του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού.

Within the framework of the second episode of its exhibition program titled Η Ρίζα που Πάλλεται/The Palpitating Root, ΦΑΝΚΑ Florina Art Residency collaborates with the first Florina International Film Festival (FIFF) and presents the film installation Daphne was a torso ending in leaves (2024) by Catriona Gallagher, curated by Christina Petkopoulou. The film installation will be hosted at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Florina (Tagmatarchou Fouledaki 8) during the festival, starting Thursday, 19/2 at 18:00. Through the semiotics and symbolic interpretations of the original myth, which have traversed diverse temporal, cultural, and historical contexts, the work re-examines the story through a poetic, eco-feminist lens. That’s what Alexandre Collet’s grandma used to tell him about the great, great parties she once threw, in
a distorted fantasy of a past time and place he’s never, never been to.
The art book edited in 2025, ΜΟΥ/ΜΑΣ ΑΡΕΣΟΥΝ ΠΟΛΥ ΠΟΛΥ ΤΑ ΠΑΡΤΙ (I / WE REALLY REALLY LIKE PARTIES) part of the artist’s broader research, is a collection of
his family’s personal archival material and memory fragments turned into notes, along with his own
drawings and texts. Within the edition, he tries to piece together stories his grandmother used to
narrate, while thinking of a party as a space of projection, expectation, and deception.

Alexandre Collet, in conversation with curator Christina Petkopoulou, will share family and personal
memories of parties, following a short screening and a reading of selected excerpts from the book.

Το 2025 σηματοδότησε την έναρξη του προγράμματος του @fankaresidency και της πρώτης εκθεσιακής σειράς με τίτλο 🌱The Palpitating Root/Η Ρίζα που Πάλλεται. Οι πρώτη ομάδα φιλοξενούμενων, Κωνσταντίνος Κωτσής και Δέσποινα Χαριτωνίδη πραγματοποίησαν επιτόπια έρευνα και παρουσιασαν την επιτελεστική γλυπτική παρέμβαση Ο Τελευταίος Χάρτης στη γειτονιά της δημοτικής αγοράς, στο κέντρο της Φλώρινας. Το έργο υλοποιήθηκε παρουσία κοινού κατά τη διάρκεια μιας περφόρμανς και παραμένει στον χώρο, επιδιώκοντας να αναδείξει τις διαδικασίες μέσα από τις οποίες η ιστορία και η γεωγραφία ενός τόπου διαμορφώνονται και μετασχηματίζονται. Εστιάζοντας στη Φλώρινα και στην ευρύτερη περιοχή των Βαλκανίων, οι καλλιτέχνες προσεγγίζουν το λεξιλόγιο των οικοδομικών και κατασκευαστικών υλικών ως αλληγορία για τη συγκρότηση της κοινότητας, της γλώσσας και της εθνικής ταυτότητας. Στην κοινή τους έρευνα, η υλικότητα λειτουργεί ως αφετηρία για στοχασμό πάνω στη σχέση ανάμεσα στον τόπο, τη συλλογικότητα και την ιστορική συνέχεια.
Το ΦΑΝΚΑ φέρει το όνομα μιας γυναίκας, γεννημένης μεταξύ του 19ου και του 20ο αι., που, στη μέση της ζωής της, το όνομα της άλλαξε.
2025 marked the inauguration of ΦΑΝΚΑ and its first exhibition series titled The Palpitating Root. For the 1st episode, Konstantinos Kotsis and Despina Charitonidi conducted field research and presented a performative sculptural intervention titled The Last Map in the neighborhood of the municipal market, central Florina. Their work, realised in the presence of an audience during a performance on 24.11.25, remains on site and seeks to foreground the processes through which the history and geography of a place are formed and transformed. Focusing on Florina and the wider region of the Central Balkans, the artists approach the vocabulary of building and construction materials as an allegory for the formation of community, language and nationhood. In their shared research, materiality functions as a point of departure for reflection on the relationship between place, collectivity, and historical continuity. ΦΑΝΚΑ is named after a woman, born in between the 19th and the 20th century, whose name was changed half way through her life.

is finally here!
The exhibition series opens this coming Monday, 24.11 in the city of Florina and turns its attention the magical channels that run through multilayered realities.
On the first episode of The Palpitating Root, Konstantinos Kotsis and Despina Charitonidi present a performative sculptural intervention titled THE LAST MAP in the neighborhood of the Municipal Market.
