Great nails are a partnership — not a one-hour fits all appointment
1. Your nails are not tools. If you use them to open cans, scrape labels, pry things apart or tap aggressively on everything, no product on earth will save them.
2. Rebooking every 5–6 weeks is not ‘low maintenance’. Overgrown enhancements = stress points, lifting and breakage. Nail care is maintenance, not magic. 2-3 weeks is often the sweet spot…very occasionally 4
3. Picking and peeling causes more damage than the product ever did. Most “gel ruined my nails” stories start with hands, not product. Believe us when we say we know what that damage looks like.
4. Cuticle oil isn’t optional. It’s aftercare. Skipping it is like getting highlights and never using conditioner. Home maintenance extends salon results
5. Instagram nails don’t equal real-life nails. What works for a content creator that gets weekly infills might not work for everyone else. Great nails can take time to obtain through care and attention. Also AI images are not real.
6. Your lifestyle matters more than your nail shape. If you work with water, gloves, kids, dogs, stock, cleaning products or tools — your nails need to be chosen accordingly. Big bad stilletos probs ain’t the one.
7. Nails breaking isn’t a ‘bad set’ by default. Sometimes it’s just physics, some lengths and shapes arn’t for some nails, see number 6 again.
8. One appointment won’t undo years of damage. Nail health is a journey, not a quick fix. Thats why IBX exists. Did you know a natural nail can take around 3+ months to grow in fully?
9. I want your nails to last — but I can’t live your life for you. The salon is only part of the equation.

Taking them short when you know your not going to be back in for a bit is a pretty smart idea. I think this was going to be a 5 weeker. As much as I don’t recommend this time frame sometimes it can’t be helped
- holidays
-work commitments
-schools out
-got a future booking for a specific date
Etc… can all affect when we get to the salon.
The sweet spot for nail maintenance is 3 weeks. I would love to see everyone back at 3 weeks. This is just before imbalance causes breakages, lifting and cracks. Because maintenance is what allows for a consistently healthy nail plate and growth.
This client has been back in since we took them to short and square, they were ok. Starting to get a bit sad and it was a longer appointment because there was more to deal with. Not as bad as it would have been however if we had left them the original length *see second image
Our next steps are to start the growth journey again and get back to some gorgeous almond nails!
Just remember no nails are the same and each client has a story
