Last but not least, we want to shout out our beloved Crown Heights site partner, @pixiescoutnyc ! Pixie Scout is a catering company, but more than that they’re chefs and hospitality experts who care deeply about building community-controlled food systems and advancing food justice. Their menus highlight seasonal flavors with sourcing from local, sustainable, and biodiverse farms, and they prioritize reusable and compostable materials. Whether they’re dropping off breakfast for a corporate team or producing a rooftop wedding, their mission is to create joyful food experiences that deliciously nourish, strengthen community, and respect our interconnected ecosystem. (Our Asian Vegetable Club CSA is officially sold out for the season 🥲. Thank you so much for all of your support!!! See you at pickups in a month!)

Last year @katosakeworks responded to a cold email asking if they’d want to host our Asian Vegetable Club, and we’re so happy they did! Now they’re back for season two as our Bushwick site with more sake, more incredible event programming, and the absolute best open-air pickup situation on hot summer days. We love the way Kato engages its community with silly fun, all while brewing some of the best sake around. Stop by to try something new (yuzu sake? rose & caradmom botanikaru?) and stay for the jazz nights, kimbap pop-ups, and calligraphy workshops. And just to hang out with all the friendly and knowledgeable brewers and bartenders. There are just a handful of spots left in this year’s Asian Vegetable Club! Secure yours now, and you’ll receive a share of locally grown, organic East Asian vegetables and herbs every Thursday from May 28 through October 29. Our CSA is distributed at five pickup sites across NYC, and every single member plays a vital role in building a community-based food system for all of us. 🫰 Sign up now through our link in bio!

The biggest and baddest Asian Vegetable Club pickup site, @welcome.to.chinatown is back for season two! Not only are they incredible partners to us in our food sovereignty work, they’re also community leaders paving the way in preserving Chinatown’s history and carrying forward its legacy. When they say “Together, we will keep Chinatown open for generations to come,” they mean it. They support small businesses, preserve cultural heritage, and use their space to host workshops, events, and panels. Their events connect attendees with experts on everything from personal finance to transitioning to a worker cooperative business model—and let’s not forget they host amazing food pop-ups. Joining the Asian Vegetable Club means eating more ancestral vegetables, supporting your local Asian farmers, and building community—and we still have room for new members this season. CSA members receive a share of locally grown, organic East Asian vegetables and herbs every Thursday from May 28 through October 29, available for pickup at five pickup locations across NYC. Say hii to @jinramennyc , the *new* @choycommons Asian Vegetable Club pickup spot on the Upper West Side. Not only do we love their housemade noodles, the restaurant is also owned + operated by Amanda of @starroutefarm ’s dad 🥹. A reminder that sign-ups for the Asian Vegetable Club are still open! Join the club to receive a share of locally grown, organic East Asian vegetables and herbs every Thursday from May 29 through October 28. Support local farmers, eat in rhythm with the seasons, help build a community-owned food system. Note: We only have full-size shares left, perfect for splitting with a neighbor, a friend, a family member! If you’ve already joined, help us spread the word.

Coming to y’all with some very exciting news—this year @greatsofcraft will be hosting @choycommons Asian Vegetable Club pickups in Long Island City! Greats of Craft founder Joe met Choy Commons co-owner Larry way back when they both worked for Dig, and we’re so happy to continue our relationship this season. The Greats of Craft Warehouse is a community space that’s a coffee shop by day and a bar by night, serving a full food menu alongside custom beer collaborations with Rockaway Brewery. Don’t miss their excellent rooftop and the entire hot dog section of the menu. The Choy Commons Asian Vegetable Club is a weekly subscription of delicious East Asian vegetables and herbs (also known as a CSA!) running from May 28 to Oct 29, 2026. Each vegetable share includes locally grown produce at its absolute peak, and will be available for pickup every Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at five NYC locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Find out more through our pinned post and/or link in bio 🙂

Update: We’re officially sold out of small shares, but we have plenty of full left! :) We are halfway to our goal of 450 members, and are close(ish) to selling out of our “small” share sizes! The backdrop of the devastating destruction, murder, and violence our country enacts strengthens our resolve to fight, and the knowledge that our fights are interconnected. That the land remembers. And that the people are MANY and the powers that be are FEW. We know food is a building block of culture and connection, and by sharing our duty to feed our communities, we can reclaim worlds beaten down through centuries of imperialism, capitalism, and white supremacy. This year’s Asian Vegetable Club is our second iteration of a community-based food system, one that: -Increases food access through a sliding scale -Prioritizes transparency in pricing and decision-making -Supports young Asian farmers and honors the land they work -Establishes local demand for local vegetables -Creates a feedback loop between members, farmers, site hosts, and site leads -Builds community instead of competition -Delivers fresh, delicious, lovingly grown ancestral Asian vegetables <3 If the current state of affairs has you feeling overwhelmed and angry, you’re not alone! As Christina said on PBS, “Food is culture. Food is belonging.” And when you do it right, food is a way of saying f**k the system. Head to our link in bio to join us : )

She is also a worker-owner of Choy Commons, co-runs the Hudson Valley Bulk Order Program, and sits on the Farmer Advisory board for NEFOC Land Grant project. In her spare time she loves swimming in creeks with her dog Music and listening to her perfect boyfriend sing songs on the guitar. Salt Wang is a a wasian trans nBi gay farmer and educator! Week 20! 2 more pickups to go y’all. Start pickling and preserving to extend the season 🥹. Lots of orangey sweet starchy things. And extra special young ginger for you. Maybe not visible to our non-farmer civilians, but it’s a challenge to grow ginger in our region!! But @gentletimefarming has refined the art (and sharing/spreading knowledge as usual) so you can have NY GROWN GINGER! Enjoy!!!!! What are you making / hoping to make / wish you could make if you weren’t tired or had more time 😌
