Celebrated 100 rides at SoulCycle tonight with @jordanciminelli
I used to spin at Mint almost every day from 2014-2019, and getting back into it at Soul two years ago has been one of the best things I’ve done for myself. I rode my first couple of classes in a mask in the back row because of pandemic anxiety about group fitness. Now, I prefer front row and Taylor Swift Tuesday is like therapy.
I have something to say on this Trans Day of Visibility 2026.
There’s an open attack on trans and gender nonconforming people happening globally, and my undivided attention as a fellow queer person and ally is on supporting people who are impacted by this directly.
Trans and nonbinary people have always existed and will always exist.
The narrative that women and children should be afraid of them is absolutely false; there’s zero evidence of trans people causing harm.
The narrative is made up by powerful men who seek to control the definition of what it looks and feels like to be a women—to narrow that definition to a point that limits the rights and lives of all women.
There are women, like JK Rowling, who have adopted this narrative because, deep down, they think proximity to these powerful men will benefit them. Don’t be like Joanne.
It’s critical that we reject this narrative collectively. Progress is everyone understanding that attacks on trans and queer people hold us back as a society. Equity benefits everyone.
In fact, we should all be looking to the trans community as examples for how to live because the power of living authentically as yourself is unmatched.
Come to Philly with me to watch @unrivaledbasketball break records.
Including a two hour train delay, a huge crowd that broke the record for attendance for a regular-season women’s professional basketball game and for any event in the venue’s history, a @lunarowlsbc win, @marinamabrey setting the league scoring record with 47 points, and a sketchy bus stop in the middle of the night.
The 14-hours-total trip was so worth it.
