Butter lamps for Ganden Ngamchoe, Hannukia for Hannukah and candles for Xmas. With these offerings, I pray the lights will illuminate the darkness and dispel ignorance and end the sufferings that has enveloped our world today. ❤️
As a proud mother of children of mixed heritage it is occasions like tonight that warm my heart. First day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah and Gaden Ngamchoe coinciding on the same night lights up our home with candles on the Hanukia and candles on the window sill. #mixedheritagefamily
Translation of Lyrics by Rabindranath Thakur himself
If there is no-one responding to your call - then go on all alone
If no-one speaks (to you), don't think you are unfortunate, if no-one speaks (to you),
If everyone turns away, if everyone fears (to speak), then with an open heart without hesitation speak your mind alone
If everyone walks away, O unlucky one, everyone walks away
If no-one looks back towards the (your) unpredictable path, then with thorn pricked (of the path) bloodied feet, walk alone
If no-one heeds your call - then walk alone
If no-one shines a light (on the path), O unlucky one,
If the dark night brings thunder and storm at the door - then let the lightning ignite the light in you alone to shine on the path
If no-one heeds your call - then walk alone
This morning my son Tal and I joined @tenzin_tsundue_tibet for a mile on his campaign. It was emotional, heartwarming and inspiring. This is what Tal wrote in the evening when we got home.
“We don’t know nobody,
But we walk.
We walk and walk and walk,
Through dirt sand and rock.
We only stop to drink sleep and eat.
We will walk through rain, snow and heat.
We will walk until March,
So, me march march and march.
China will fall,
Its only a matter of time,
I know this doesn’t rhyme but,
Walk with him,
Talk and smile.
Walk a mile.
As Tibetans all across the world make preparations to celebrate #Losar #TibetanNewYear which falls on 12th Feb this year, my cousin - who I am incredibly proud of - is embarking on a solo March to Delhi covering 500kms to highlight why Tibet matters. Why Tibet should remain a focus for India when dealing with China and Why India should push back and #StopAppeasingPRC and #RepealOneChinaPolicy. There are many ways you can support and/or participate. For starters follow tsundue on Instagram @tenzin_tsundue_tibet or Twitter @tenzintsundue and #WalkaMileforTibet
